John80sk Posted October 11, 2011 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Working on my first mod for New Vegas and just had some basic questions, probably ones that have been answered before but the search feature didn't turn up a whole lot for me. Currently I'm just trying to add a new rifle to the game with my own model/texture and was mostly wondering about the poly count... that being, what should I be shooting for? I'm at about 4,200 right now (Currently optimizing as I uvmap parts of it) and want to get it straightened out before I start texturing the thing. I'm guessing the model is on the high end, but I would like to know what the maximum poly count generally is for this type of weapon. Another question revolving around making custom reticles, as in how do I create them. I'm guessing just create the image and fill in the parts you see through with an alpha channel but just wanted to make sure. Secondly would it be possible to make the reticle behave as if on a first focal plane (I plan on making zoom adjustable, and with most modern mil-dot scopes the size of the reticle will adjust with the power).
