Tenchijin
Well I installed the game and started playing. Everything was normal for an hour until suddenly there were random vertices everywhere; huge spikes and triangles going off into the distance with random stretched out textures upon them. I have a GeForce 6600GT, 1024 mb ram, p4 2.6 gHz... I seem to meet the requirements, please tell me what the problem is, if you've seen it before, and how to fix it. Crisb92
As far as I know these are called artifacts, and they are caused by the graphics card overheating or not working properly. I do not know of a fix for this, unless you are willing to upgrade your cooling or graphics card. For the time being, if it happens I suggest letting the computer cool down, otherwise the graphics card may break, thats what happened to my 5200FX, good times. :glare: Good luck, Cris. Tenchijin
thanks for the info. Lucky for me, I'm moving out on my own, and getting a new system soon! I'll have to be more careful.
TheTerminator2004
Yeah... I used to overclock my graphics card (almost a year ago now), and after a while it started to overheat, and I got loads of those. Irritatingly, it also seems to have shortened its lifespan considerably, so now it's on it's last legs, and I'm getting artifacts again (mixed in with random crashes). Anyway, if it's overheating, unless you're overclocking, then there's something wrong. All graphics cards ship with enough cooling to keep it cool at the standard clock rates, so if it's overheating, then something's stopping it from working effectively. Is there anything blocking up the air vents on your computer? Are any of the fans really dusty, and beginning to get blocked up? If so, then remove anything blocking them, and use a soft cloth to clean up all the dust (Do NOT take a hoover anywhere near it, and I'm not sure if a duster is a good idea either- static electricity could wreck your pc. If the worst comes to the worst, you can try taking the case off, that would let a lot of cool air in.
