Weapon Types

I am primarily wondering if shortswords have been confirmed to be in the game? Also while on the subject of the weapons are all of the weapon types from Oblivion going to be in Skyrim. I am mainly looking for an answer to the Shortsword part as this will greatly effect my ideal character. I'm not looking to start a big conversation about the topic of weapons so once the question is answered i intend on removing the post. Thank you.
