Settlers Donate Blood

I've always felt that hunting through the wasteland for blood packs was a chore, and a rather disgusting one that makes little sense if you consider all the blood packs you find in old caches should be way too old to use.

 

What i've always thought would be a good use of my settler's time is to have them donate blood, after all, if you're living in my settlement, the least you can do is keep out blood supply stocked so that if it comes to it, our hastily assigned doctor could save your useless pipe pistol wielding life.

 

That brings me to the request, Similar to how settlers will gather purified water and put it into the workshop inventory, would it be possible to create a mod that has them do the same for blood packs?

 

I imagine it would operate like this:

 

1. Build a clinic and assign a settler.

 

2. Settlers donate blood once every few days to the clinic's doctor.

 

3. More settlers = more blood packs

 

4. Blood packs stored in workshop like water/food/scavenged items from other workstations.

 

Another alternative, would be to add a new resource item that can be placed like a water pump that would produce blood packs to be placed into the workshop.

 

I hope one of you clever and enterprising modders could bring this idea to life.
