Bernt
I wanted to play a bit today but now I cannot run the game. Trying to start it via F4SE and Fallout.launcher. The error I get is "Fallout4.exe - system error. The program cannot start." "nvToolsExt64_1dll is missing on your computer." "Try to reinstall the program and see if that solves the problem." I played a bit yesterday with no problems. I have seen Steam updating every now and then - in spite of being kept off-line. I tried googling but that only turned up some links regarding a pirated version of the game. Nothing useful for me. I bought the game around christmas on a retail DVD and it has been running rock solid ever since. As much as possible I play with Steam offline. I don't want to get ambushed by a feral patch - yes, I am looking at you 1.5! My game is patched to 1.4. I am wondering if it will help to verify the game cache. But can I do that without Steam throwing 1.5 at me? Edit: Would "nvTools" be a NVidia driver? I am using an AMD Radeon. Problem solved. I found a page where I could download the missing .dll. I put it into my FO4 directory and the game starts. Still wondering what this means though  Just found out WHY it was missing. I had moved it when moving a batch of screenshots to another folder. So stupid  Well - if this can help someone else then.............
