BegunValkery
Ok, I just want to say that I am a beginner, who knows NOTHING about using NifSkope, and it is very difficult for finding the information I need to know for modding, without having the descriptions ASSUMING that I know how to use stuff. I want to know how to create iron sights for weapons, starting with the chinese assault rifle, without skipping any steps, like knowing how to make it so I can set it for when I'm aiming, how to activate it so it will only affect the aiming part in NifSkope. Please, I am autistic, so reading and inferring is a deficit for me, so I need a better understanding when it comes to this, and NO, I DON'T NEED IT TO BE "DUMBED DOWN", just be more specific. Werne
Well, first you will need to make the animation for 1st person so that when you aim the gun moves to the center of the screen (I don't know how to do that but I think you will need Blender for that). Then you need to add the front and rear sight to the vanilla model (some vanilla models already have the sights but most don't). You will need Blender for that too, and since I don't know how to use Blender I won't be of much help with those parts. Anyway, after you've done that you have to align the front and rear sight by changing the gun position in NifSkope. Here's how to do that to Chinese Assault Rifle: First you open the assaultrifle.nif in NifSkope. You can see the model in the right window and the list in the left. Right click the BSFadeNode in the list and go to Transform > Edit. Now you have to position the gun with Translation and Rotation. In translation X moves the gun forward and backward (red axis), Y moves the gun up and down (green axis) and Z moves the gun to the side (blue axis). If you want the model to move to the other side make it a negative number (ex. 3.0000 moves the gun 3mm to the right, -3.0000 moves the gun 3mm to the left). In rotation Y rotates the gun around the red axis, P rotates it around the green axis and R rotates it around the blue axis. Also, the gun must always be facing the same direction as the red axis (point where the red arrow is pointing). I know this isn't much but I hope it at least helped a little.
