SecretAgentGuy
Let me give you a little of my experience in working with the Fallout: New Vegas GECK. I have enjoyed the concept of making my own content for the ever-awesome Fallout: New Vegas game, and a bit over a month or so ago I bought the game for my PC and started working with the GECK. A month or so later, I would say I have a relatively good idea of how to use the GECK and I'm learning new procedures and methods every day for making more and more quality content. I have stockpiled and written down tons of excellent ideas for mods, and I would say I would at least make an excellent writer and concept artist for a modding team if my technical skills are insufficient. I have next to zero coding knowledge, and I know what you have been thinking since you saw the title of this topic; I must be some naive, worthless moron who has no valuable skills and knows nothing about what it takes to make a Fallout mod. Probably.Point is, theres a chance that isn't true. I have a good backround with writing and coming up with unique ideas. I love to innovate; anything less than innovation is almost completely boring to me. I know (somewhat) how to use the GECK program, I am becoming more acquainted with the modding community and the Fallout: New Vegas Nexus website and I am learning more every day. I love to make things look VERY professional, and though I don't exactly deliver on that all the time, you can rest assured I hate it even when a word for the description is mispelled or the logo for one of my projects is just a little bit crooked or the color scheme isn't perfect. I'm serious; I'm a huge perfectionist. It's generally a curse- but in the case of making quality, professional-looking mods, I think it would help considerably. Yeah, maybe I am incredibly damn naive in thinking I could put together a modding team off the bat, but wouldn't it be fun? Crafting expansive, beautiful and deep worlds, stories, characters and more with a couple of pals? So please, in closing, if you are interested in the idea of teaming up with a rookie coder but a deeply experienced and motivated writer, send me a message! Thanks, and as always, have fun out there adventurers!
Bdthemag
No offence, but I don't think many people want to join a team where the leader would be just the "ideas guy". You have to bring something to the table as well, not just that you can "somewhat" use the GECK.
SecretAgentGuy
I've already stated clearly that I have a talent for writing-- I would do dialogue, story, and such. I can also create interior areas relatively well.
HSovieticus
As a writer, what are you interests and from where do you draw your inspiration?
Korodic
Bdthemag does have a point. We all have ideas. Though working in teams is beneficial. Just get your basics down ;) Edited October 17, 2011 by Skibblets
rjhelms84
Could you show us any writing samples you have, and/or some of the interiors you've designed? Also, you say you can do concept art? Have any pictures? :)

Thanks, and as always, have fun out there adventurers! I might be interested in this. I'm experienced with the scripting language in geck, having done years of c/c++ myself. I'm o.k. with blender, gimp etc. You can see some of my stuff here in some images. None of my mods are, and never will be posted to this site. If you are interested you can check out like gmod.com has some better setups in a way, not as active yet. If you really want to get a team together, you should consider looking on some other sites than this one. Then again that depends on the type of moding you want to do though. There are some great people here, just the site owners/admin etc are a bit different. Edited October 17, 2011 by lunaspike
