Vagrant0
Ignorance of law does not make you impervious to it. The difference between modding content, and just using it in your own stuff it is that modding still requires anyone who would use it to have bought the game from its distributor. You would be either making that content free, or gaining wealth by selling it with your software. Do yourself a favor and learn about international copyright law, and what is not open source or freeware. I don't care how backward your country is. You obviously speak english well enough, you obviously have power, computers, and internet. Bethsoft may not gain anything by going after you, but they certainly will be going after anyone stupid enough to host your files. Bethsoft may not hold you responsible, but your ISP might once they've been fined, arrested, and shut down. You are promoting theft of content and software piracy. That is all that needs to be said. If you insist, do as you please. No one of any intellegence will help you, and I hope you rot in one of your fine Romanian prisons.

Vagrant0
Ok, I got it already, though I never said I was going to sell anything, have you ever heard of a game mod being sold ? But you aren't making a mod, you're making a stand alone program, in a different engine that just uses the meshes and textures from a source which is neither open source or freeware... Why are you debating this. You do not have the right to use their content in anything which doesn't require any end user to have bought their product. This is mentioned clearly in the EULA... Thankfully in the rest of the world, written contracts do mean something. Although I highly doubt that you have a clear understanding of your own country, since otherwise you'd have total anarchy, and we would not be having this discussion. Gee, thanks, the thing is that smart people don't enter politics, mostly because you can't solve anything by being right or having papers saying righteous things. Who said that was a sign of being smart. It mearly meant that you have to exist in some generally civilized and/or westernized area of the world. Regardless of the state of your own political system, your country, as per joining the EU, agreed to follow the rules set forth by other governments in order to protect the ideas of their peoples. If they refuse to follow these guidelines, they can be sanctioned by those countries. Your govenrment has stated in its own constitution that is till uphold those laws. I highly doubt that your government officials are as passive about the law as you are. Infact, if people from your country can sue an american film company because of how they are depicted in a movie, your country definitely has enough of a legal system to hold you or your ISP accountable for software piracy. Let me make it simple. If what you think here is alright, make your engine downloadable so that I can download it and claim it as my own work. Obviously it isn't, but hey, I'm not in Romania, any rights to your software are non-existant here. By your own definition, any argument you may have against this would be meaningless since the laws, by your definition, are worthless things written on paper. I don't intend to do this, it's probably a stolen engine anyway, but this is essentially what you are doing. You are taking content you do not have rights to, claiming it as your own, and distributing both your software and that content together. Even if you are not making money from it, you are still sharing content you do not have rights to share. Hm... isn't there an international treaty banning xenophobia ?Are you a child, or are you just stupid? Honestly, either you're some 12 year old, or you've been living in a cave, blind to how the world works. Maybe even both. I'm even starting to wonder if you aren't just some american kid who downloaded the game, found out some files were missing, and are trying to get someone to send them to you. Irregardless, do what you want, I'm done talking to the wall, no one will help you.

Jumonji
Bethesda brilliantly realised that if they opened up their game to modders, then more people would buy their engine (via the Oblivion game) and they would make more money. Modders have fun, gamers have fun, Bethesda makes more money. Everyone happy. However, if you pervert their intention and use their game contents to make it so people do NOT have to buy their engine, then they will lose revenue. And then they will have a right to take legal action against you or anyone who assists you. It's that simple. Actually it's not quite that simple... if enough people do what you want to do, then companies like Bethesda will quit offering modding access to their products. And we all lose. However, all that being said, I doubt that you really intend to hurt Bethesda or their employees. You really just want to have fun and create cool stuff, right? So... find a way to do it that doesn't involve using propriatary materials. That's all. -Jumonji
leetgamer
If you truly are Romanian cippyboy, then this explains everything. Romanians are born, at least some if not most of us, to steal. Instead of going to a shop and rent a video, we download movies online. That's not only the case, it also happens on many other cases. But you crossed the limit. OOC:People like you make us look bad, we entered the EU with so many problems, look at us now, Italy hates us. Vargrant always is right, and stop being so sarcastic and naive.. he's right, as long as Oblivion is sold in Romania, Bethesda have established themselves here also, so they will catch you. Sorry for bumping, but this made me angry
