sckaos
Hello! Let me start by saying I am extremely new to modding my experience is limited but I pick things up very fast. I am currently running about 30 mods and most of them function correctly without any extra work or issue on my part. I am having an issue with Unnecessary Violence 2 specifically, the weapon functions. I cannot do any of the weapon functions from the inventory screen holding down the UV action button (A menu comes up with options, the one that works is replicate item). Is any else experiencing/experienced this issue? If so, how can I go about fixing it? Problems include : Cannot Dual Wield (Weapons do not appear in offhand)Cannot rotate weapon (Replicates the weapon but without the effect)Cannot hold 1h weapon with two hands (In some cases this completely deletes the weapon!) I just recently downloaded the game again from Steam to get ready for Skyrim! Details of what I've tired before posting: Read readme for proper installation and required modsDouble checked that all mods I am running are compatibleUsed forum search function (Found one post, tried all fixes before posting)Reinstalled Steam to a different directoryReinstalled OblivionUsed Filedate changer to fix the .bsa archive files with proper dates x2 (Did it again to make sure I got them all)Restarted a brand new game with only this mod running to make sure it wasn't something else I installedAlso started a new game post changing directories and file dates Any ideas?! Any help is appreciated! Need something to keep me busy until next month :)
MShoap13
Are you running the proper version of OBSE? Do you have the Shivering Isles or any other DLC installed? Is Oblivion version 1.2.0416 (normally Steam would keep it updated but it may not be)?
KawaiiSpider
If you aren't already, try using wrye bash and making a bash patch - that seems to help with a lot of mods. Also try changing your load order, maybe making UVII load last or first; I've found this can make a huge difference sometimes. Yes, double checked running OBSE 0020 which to my knowledge, unless I am looking in the wrong place is the latest version. Yes, also have Shivering isles installed and I am up to date on patches. Note: I do not have the unofficial patch running for either the game or any of the DLC, I am downloading all of those now to see if it has any effect. None of the unofficial patches were mentioned in the readme but it cant hurt right? I downloaded Wrye bash and created a patch, I'm still a little confused about this mod... been reading through but I'm not sure exactly what it does other than combine specific things. Tried with new B-patch, same issue upon loading game.Tried chaning load order twice, first and last (was originally set to last) no effect :( I do appreciate the responses and the help! Hopefully we can get this figured out!
MShoap13
Wrye Bash is a very diverse utility that can force conflicting mods to work together, install mods directly from archives (and keep track of which mods replace the same resource so you can choose which takes precedence and uninstall mods without creating issues), shorten your load order, etc. etc. etc. You should also get BOSS if you don't already have it as it makes sorting your load order a lot easier and it's Bash Tag suggestions are extremely helpful to beginners with Wrye Bash. Are you sure you've installed Oblivion outside of Windows UAC's control? What type of Archive Invalidation did you use and what did you set it up with? Note : I have fixed the problem. Upon the 100th inspection of the install paths I realized that I had the nifse dll in the wrong folder which is why these function were not working. I feel like an idiot and it's working now. Thank you all for your comments, tips, and suggestions. Going to play around with Wrye Bash some and see what I can work with. ( To be fair, I did say I was new at this! ) :)
