Have you tried console commands? As in "disable" or "markfordelete"? If weapon is visible, easy way is to drop one, click on it in the console and will give you the ID number for it. If not visible/dropable, have to open console and hit "help <weapon name>, 4". Will have a few things to sort through but actual weapon will be obvious when see and will have the ID number that can use in delete command. That sposed to remove all reference of it from the game

it appears your hands are tied for internet dependency... meaning you can't use steam to update the games catch / verify files.

So, due to the tools used, we know what is there and what should not be there.

the reason the guns are still there is because the resources for them are still loading and are still available.

In the games "data" folder, you should only have raw default code sitting in there....but NMM places it's files into several places.

The data folder should have these only as far as folders go:

  • Sound
  • Strings
  • Video
  • Vis

And the main plugin files for the default masters from steam. Nothing else should be there.

Any other folders you might see in there ? simply move them out ...DO not delete them, move them out of the data folder so you can load the game up and fast travel and hard save the game. reload that hard save and the guns should now be gone.

This will of course depend on just how many mods were installed by Nmm too.

I don't use nmm but I know it saves and installs mods from a virtual directory other than the main games folders.

Usually these Nmm folders related to the nexus can be found in the users/ username/apps/local/ ????? folders.

you look for those, move those out to a safe place. reboot the system and reload the steam application and run the game launcher and hope it does not try to update.

run the game and test. I'm sure some one that uses Nmm will chime in and help you more accurately than I can.

I use another application for modding...I used to use Mod Organizer, but now i use something else.

Suffice to say, it's not relevant for you to know. as there is no trace of any controlling app's found to even look at.

The games launcher after the last update in tandem with steam loads all assets on launch. with just one ini edit, I can even see what I want to see in the launchers windows.

Fo4 appears not to need any load order requirements...steam handles it now. Not so sure about 3rd party apps though?

I run about 30 mods. Tiny app's, very small foot prints.

The guns showing up in the mouse over are parts of data listed in a folder called up by scripts...It CTD's because some thing is missing.

I'm a vamp too, very tired, My kids give me a full day every day. Save your band width, I thought it out as best as I could, you need to have a clear mind when approaching anything that costs you money or allowances.

day's are non stop. There is a version of Mod organizer for this game. any mods that are just plugins ? you can make folders in MO's mod directory and put the plugins in to it. Though, it is a different approach, and some times people have a harder time learning it or there are other reasons it might not work....IT does allow you to keep the data separated.

Damm, trying to cut corners is not an easy task. Steam will in fact delete invalid mods or files for this game. but it can't touch files held in mo's folders.

Fo4 default files should not be getting deleted, but if you alter them, then yes, they will get trashed.

For fallout 4, you can once cleaned up and running on it's own, you can set steam to run off line...once steam has finished with updating the games files.

Steam is on the system running, but it is not connecting to valve. There are files the game needs that are downloaded on launch and these files get removed when you close steam down and are re-downloaded when it opens again for the game.

These are hidden files the game requires in order to run.

It gets real complicated on windows 10 more so than older systems. Files location, UAC issues, digital signature issues. and a host of other things are all kept in mind.

There are other things that require use of band width, your allocated Data usage that can fix most issues permanently but wait until you have the other game installed, I'll come back then and discuss them with you.

I keep a diagnostic game here for test conducted with others to fix things, it remains in a steam setup on an external usb drive that is plug and play ,and I keep this one on line all the time.

In time we learn to cope with what gets thrown at us. Microsoft threw a nasty thing with 10. But things do work out. This morning I rolled back a hard drive that some how got messed up and would not boot any more. Currently running win8.1 OEM Product 64bit.

maybe next week I'll re-update it again. Nvidia drivers were not liked well by the system....it complained about the signatures of it's graphics drivers every boot session.

we will see what takes place.
