Archanix29
I just got the elusive Fighter's Stronghold plug-in (after a lot of convincing and pleading with my parents), but I found a problem that might have not made it worth it. After installing Fighter's Stronghold, I learned that every save I make causes Oblivion to CTD. I know for sure this expansion is the problem, because after disabling it, Oblivion worked properly. I have thought of some reasons why this might happen: 1: All other official expansions are used except for KotN and SI (see below why). 2: Oblivion is not at it's highest version. Instead, each plug-in was hex-edited. I tried to do this with KotN and SI, but it didn't work. 3: I am using Oldblivion to run the game. 4: There are no patches used (mainly because my PC won't install them. I left the patch install for a day, and nothing happened.) I wouldn't be too disappointed if I didn't go through so much work to get it, so I want to put it to use. Does anybody have an idea why this might happen? Thanks in advance.
bben46
Sounds like you have already gone far beyond what most people using Oldblivion have. Battlehorn does require the latest patch (it says so in the documentation) - it was the last DLC made and was made after the last patch was released. As far as I know, it is not backwards compatible. As for patching, You could check the Oldblivion site to see what they have to say about getting patches.
