EltA35
Howdy folks Naturally, I've looked at all the crash solutions and unfortunately not a single one of them has worked for me. However, I think I've found my own 'fix' that I recommend you all try if you're still having probs with this game. It seems most of the issues are caused by sound/codecs. I've updated all mine, excluded F3 in ffdshow and god knows how many other things I've tried, to no avail. Until now.Two nights ago, I thought, 'hang on, disable the audio completely BEFORE I load a savegame'. It works. Perfectly. All my save games load successfully where they'd previously crash instantly. All you have to do is as I've done; disable master audio in menu, load your save, and re-enable the sound when you are sure it's 'safe' to do so (I did this more or less immediately after walking around a bit). The only problem I have is that when exiting F3, I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete; no biggy really. I can now play the game for hours on end with NO CRASHES or FREEZES. So I urge you to try this. But I still quick-save all the time, just to be sure....
Jeoshua
Rename Fallout 3\Data\Music to _Music and disable the music to begin with.
