Liad88
Hello everyone, I preordered the Skyrim Collector's Edition for the PS3 some time back, and I was curious if the game comes in a steelbook case. I've been searching around to try and get a answer to this question, but everything is so vague and pictures are so small that I can't make anything out. Some sites say it comes in a steelbook, some sites don't even mention the game case at all. So I decided to go straight to the source and ask: Does the Collector's edition game come in a special case? and if so; is it a steelbook? While I think it's a delicious looking collector's edition, the price is way too steep for me if it comes in a regular game case, as that's the main reason I buy special editions. Any reply would be much appreciated :) edit: I'm sorry if there is a thread on this already, as I didn't do much searching before posting. -Liad88 Edited October 16, 2011 by Liad88
hejpadig
http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/445848-video-of-the-australian-limited-edition-contents/ In that video they say that the steel box is for the limited editions, I have no idea whatsoever, just heard him say that. Liad88
Thanks for the reply. looks like they do have steelbooks, but that seems to be australia only. too bad =(
malevolentraven
So, let me just see if I understand what your saying. Your wanting to get the CE not for the artbook, statue, or DVD. But because it may/may not come in a steelbook case? :psyduck: I know that the picture does NOT look like a regular case and that it has the game and the DVD in one case. So i think that would suggest that it is in a steelbook case. It is definitely not in a regular case though. Unless they just didn't put the game in the picture lol but I'm 99% sure that the game and DVD are in one case and fairly confident that it is a steelbook case. Hope that helps

But because it may/may not come in a steelbook case? :psyduck: Well after I bought Deus Ex human revolution collector's edition I felt ripped off. I paid half the amount i'm paying for this CE, and I got a half-assed game case which looked so cheap (didn't even have end labels :P), and a extremely cheap figure that can't even stand up properly. I do enjoy The artbook and the DVD, but the main reason I buy Special /coll/ limited etc editions is because the game case looks different from the regular ones, and sometimes absolutely stunning (look at Crysis 2's nano edition steelbook case for example). If I want the CE I have to pay 265 USD, and that's a crazy amount, especially considering what I want is just a different Game Case. The Limited Edition seems to be right up my alley, but the only places I could pre-order them from was Australia and Canada ONLY sites, so their out of the question. So yeah, if i'm gonna 'invest' that much money into a CE, I wanna know that i'm getting what I want. just arguing semantics: having the Game and DVD being in the same case doesn't necessarily mean that it's a steelbook case, just FYI. Thanks for your input though! Edited October 16, 2011 by Liad88

Thanks for your input though! I wasn't saying that just because they are in the same case means it's a steelbook but from the picture they released with all the collectors edition stuff layed out it looks like it could very well be a steelbook case. I was just saying they are in the same case as a side note. And you have to pay $265 for the CE!?!? That's rediculous, I'm assuming it's a situation where you don't live in the US and it's difficult to get one?
Liad88
^-- Not really, it's just that prices where I live are crazy, and if I get it shipped here, I have to pay a lot to get it through customs, so even though it's cheaper originally, after shipping it comes out to roughly the same price.
