David Brasher
You can use RefSkope to find out which mod adds particular items, such as items that display as missing meshes. If you don't have RefSkope, you can go into console mode to click on things and look at their ID numbers. The first two digits indicate position in load order. You can then go to Wrye Bash and look at the load order numbers and get the name of the mod with the missing mesh. In your case, you may need to wait until a guard gets killed and then search him to obtain the missing mesh object, because if you click on the guard himself, the proceedure will probably tell you he was added by vanilla Oblivion. If you don't diagnose it that way, you can do process of elimination. If you have .esp-dependent missing meshes rather than replacer caused missing meshes, you can systematically deactivate large groups of mods until the problem goes away. You deactivate and reactivate mods as required according to play-testing results. You keep doing steps like this until you have isolated the one problem mod. In the case of a non.esp dependent replacer type problem, systematically rename to disable, move, or delete armor and weapon items guards carry until the problem goes away. These items will revert to vanilla Oblivion because when the computer can't find any new meshes for something, then it refers to the base game and makes it perfectly ordinary. JDFan
Usually this is more an installation issue than a mod issue (unless you are using a newly released mod - since problems with mod packages are usually found fairly soon after release and noted in the mods discussion folder !)--- check your Oblivion\Data folder for a second DATA folder (ie. Oblivion\data\data\ or a second textures or meshes folder ( ie. Oblivion\data\meshes\meshes or Oblivion\data\textures\textures\ ) -- since you are missing both textures and meshes it is likely that when you unpoacked a mod the file were extracted incorrectly and wound up in the wrong place (either an extra sub folder or missing level)
