Shayaryn
Okay. So I've never used the construction set. Just to make that clear. I downloaded Kafei's mult-pierced ears mod, and followed the instructions in the readme. Specifically: Installation: Extract the contents of the "kdMultiEarrings" folder to your Oblivion/Data folder. If prompted, allow files to overwrite. You mustadd the ears to the custom race you are playing by using the Construction Set. (Using it to replace the ears for a default race wouldadd earrings to every NPC of that race.) Choose your favored mesh (a preview of the different styles may be seen in the included .jpgs) fromthe meshes/characters/earrings folder, and the appropriate texture for your race in the textures/characters/earrings folder. I didn't really care if other Bosmer had the ears. And only females, at that. So I just did it to all of 'em; replaced the ear mesh and texture, just like it said. And decided to screw around, while I was at it. I made female Bosmer the same height as the males. I made sure all the data files looked right (I have alot of mods), and started the game. Oh noes! My poor Bosmer has the new ears, but her eyes are weird! It's doing this thing where the pupil seems to be repeating oldy, and looks kinda, really gross. I thought it might be because I scaled her down before doing this using the console, but I'm not sure. Honestly, I haven't tried that yet... The eyes freak me out. Even using the elaborate eyes mod, it only shows the default options under "showracemenu", and they're all the same weird, buggy eyes. So I went back into the CS, and tried to change the female ears back to the same way the male ones are, and restored the original height. Looking at the button where you can click to change the .nif file, there's no folder for wood elf ears that I can see. Or any race at all. Screwed around a bit more, now in the CS at least Bosmer and Altmer both have all-black eyes, but the others are okay. I tried deleting Kafei's ears, but then my female wood elf had no ears at all, and still had the weird eyes. Then I restored them, and the cool ears and freaky eyes. Then, I made a copy of the wood elf race (like I should have in the first place), and the ears show up on the copy and not the original, but both still have the weird eyes. I can't seem to be able to restore the default. I've been trying for over an hour now, and feel like my head's gonna explode. I'm thinking that maybe I should just uninstall, and then re-install the game. This is driving me nuts. Is there any way to fix this without having to reinstall the game? If I wasn't clear enough about something, I can clarify. I really want this solved quickly.
herosinger
Do you use a mod that adds eyes? Any race-modifying mods will conflict with each other, and you made a race-modifying mod.
Shayaryn
I use the elabortate eyes mod, yes. I tried turning it off though, and it did the same thing. And I turned off the mod I had used to make the duplicate race. I can't seem to reset the defaults, though. I just played the game for a few minutes. All the guards in the imperial city have pure black eyes, and I just ran into this wood elf NPC. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v488/Tayne/freakyeyes.jpg I just want to get it back the way it was. It would be nice to have those new ears, but I'd rather have eyes that look natural. If it's possible to have both, maybe I can finally relax. herosinger
Have you tried turning off the plugin you created, saving, then reloading the new save?
Shayaryn
I have it off, and I've been playing around with different versions of Ren's and Elaborate eyes. Elaborate eyes has a basic version, and then a merged with Ren's hairs only and Ren's full. However, with only elaborate eyes merged with either of Ren's, my character's hair doesn't show up right, and going into the showracemenu in the console crashes the game. Only having Ren's full or hairs only shows the hair, and that Bosmer NPC's eyes work fine, but my character's eyes are all black, and only the googly eyes and the all-black eyes show up in the showracemenu thing. I haven't tried saving and reloading, but I have saved, exited the game, played around with the plugins, and loaded the saved game. That doesn't do the same thing? Saving and reloading without quitting tyhe game would make a difference? I'm at school right now, and don't have Oblivion on my laptop, but I do have Morrowind and the construction set, which I believe is very similar to the TESIV version, if that could be of any help. Shayaryn
So I just downloaded the Oblivion CS, and it does work for experimenting with only the CS installed. What IS Wyre Bash, anyway? I'll be home in about an hour, so I can screw around with it then. Thanks for all the replies. Maybe I can get this fixed tonight. Would it help if I took a screencap of all my running mods in the OB launcher data files thing?
Abramul
Wrye Bash is a Swiss Army Mod Tool! I.e., it does a bunch of stuff, so it's hard to categorize. However, in general, it does two types of things: Manage Oblivion mods, savegames, replacers and screenshots. E.g.:• Sort rename, reorder, preview, etc.• Load savegame masters• Separate savegames into profiles. Provide many special purpose functions. E.g.:• Import NPC levels (useful for Oscuro's, Francesco's and similar releveling mods)• Import PC face from one game to another.• Fix the door/flame animation bug that occurs around 200 hours. http://wrye.ufrealms.net/Wrye%20Bash.html#ImportaFaceIf I change the face for player (00000007), save it as an ESP, and use bash to import, it gives me an error, but seems like it may be importing properly. The preview window doesn't work, which may be due to the version of Bash or of the CS.
Shayaryn
The problem is, ALL my save files are screwed up. I think I got it fixed so it only affects Bosmer, though. Everyone else seems to have normal eyes. Is there any way to just restore the defaults, though? Anything to copy and paste?
