LexoNZ
Hi, I hope this hasn't been posted before - but I expect it has. I searched "quit" and got 25 pages, and I looked through the last 10 pages of technical support with no luck. I can play Oblivion as long as I want without any problems. But every time I quit - 100% - I get a Windows error. This wouldn't be a problem, except some video options require a restart and it seems that the error prevents the program remembering the options I set in game. If you need any specs I will find them ASAP. Any help appreciated, Alex
Abramul
Oblivion.ini may be found at My Documents\My Games\OblivionThe settings available in-game can be found and changed here, although they're spread out through the file. As for Alpha Boötis' problem, make a copy of Oblivion.ini, and whenever it resets your settings, replace the .ini with this copy.
TheTerminator2004
I used to get that error quite a lot, before I reinstalled Windows. But I don't expect you want to do that :) I don't think there's much you can do to stop it happening, though a reinstall might help, possibly. Malchik
It is not unusual for Ob to crash on quitting. It can be worsened by some mods too such as OOO. I have a couple of times found that the settings have reverted to default but that is very much rarer. Not sure you can do too much but try looking for hints on maximising performance. LexoNZ
Hi, Arcturus metions with new video card drivers cause a "video card not recognized error." I get this also - could that be the problem? I am using an 8800GTS. Thanks
gruler
Same problem with my copy of oblivion. When i quit the game.I can actually hear some game music when the error message pops up after program crashes. I don't need to reset video options though. damstachizz
Are you using Vista?Vista doesn't agree with Oblivion 100%, and when you have some Settings set to something, Vista THINKS oblivion Crashed..when in fact, it shut down perfectly. TheTerminator2004
In fact, this reminds me, when I first got Oblivion, I had this problem too, though it went away after a while. no idea what caused it.
