Don't get me wrong, I'm immensely excited for this game, but they look a little lackluster; especially row 2, column 3. Honestly, it looks last gen. Thats because it IS last gen. This game was designed for consoles and theyre really lagging PC hardware right now, as they are late in their lifespan, especially the Xbox360. This being said, given this very immutable reality, Skyrim looks really good. If it was a pure PC title I'd say it was inexcusably bad, but thats not the case. The good news is that through graphical mods, we should be able to give it a pretty good facelift, given the necessary hardware to do so. Let me re instate my opinion that your an idiot .. but also lemme explain to you that this is a console game and grounded by console capabilities .. for an open world game of its scale the graphics it presents are absolutely stellar .. This is the best looking RPG on the market besides the witcher 2 and the witcher 2 is not having to deal with the processes this game does .. the mass amounts of NPC Ai .. the pickable plants .. wildlife .. the HUGE lod levels required for the massive landscape .. This game is pushing every limit to get to the point its at .. I get that you probably dont know jack squat about videogame development but don't go around talking trash cause trust me I'll point out every flaw in your eyesight on these graphics topics .. Furthermore, nowhere did I "trash" the game. Reading comprehension is obviously your weakness. If there was anything you should have been able to infer from my two comments, it's that I am immensely excited for the game. Also, I find it humorous that you want to attempt to talk down to me and "explain" your knowledge regarding game development and in the process you list some of the most sophomoric items that anyone with an ounce of interest in gaming would understand. Everyone has an area of expertise and you claim to be an expert regarding game development (an assertion that I tend to disbelieve). While my expertise may not be in that arena, my overall expertise and education would allow me to run circles around you in any functioning society. If you want to compare degrees and intellect, I'd be more than happy to, however that's not why I started participating in this forum. Now get off my dick and allow me to state my opinion. Not just with Jedi but a lot of people who get so rabid from even mild criticism are just fanboys trying hard to convince themselves that someone they really want is something really good. Skyrim is a great game with some pretty impressive scenes, but it'll be flawed in other scenes just because of the nature of the open game. BGS can't make every angle of every area perfect. If that bothers you, you're probably a fanboy who cares too much. Edit: I still stand by my opinion that is looks sub par. Besides you cant "disallow" mods. If I had it in me, I'd wait a long time before I bought the game to allow graphic enhancement mods to be built so I could enjoy the game with all the beautifully created aftermarket texture mods. Corakus Posted October 18, 2011 Share Posted October 18, 2011 (edited) You have to remember one thing, these screens are on the console and you're looking at it close-up on a PC.Consoles graphics are designed to be seen from far away, not close up.And these look great considering that, so it'll look even better on a PC.Even if you don't have super high textures, you still get much further dynamic shadows and far less pop-in and anti-aliasing.Someone will most likely make a mod that has really large textures, even if it's not included with the disc.
