SlashBite Posted October 18, 2011 Share Posted October 18, 2011 (edited) Ok so here's my problem: No matter if i use the launcher or FOMM the game does NOT want to load any mods, it just stays vanilla. I first noticed this after i used both the launcher and the FOMM to disable the DLC packs from the 4th update. Despite the fact that i turned them OFF they would still load when the game started, and upon starting a new game the items were given to my character. In short: any change i make to the mod load order (be it from FOMM or the launcher) has absolutely no effect on the game whatsoever. I tried reinstalling... but no luck. I am not new to installing mods as I have been using mods ever since Oblivion came out. Please if anyone has any idea why they are not working and how i can fix this please answer my post. LE: So, I just reinstalled FNV, added the cheat terminal mod. With no updates installed I started the launcher and checked the FNV.esp and the cheat terminal mod. In game the cheat terminal did not spawn. I then proceeded to install update nr 3. After it was installed I again opened the games launcher and checked ONLY FNV.esp and cheat terminal (the DLC packs where not ticked) however, in game the cheat terminal STILL did not spawn and surprisingly the DLC did load... despite me setting them NOT TO... i am baffled... it's like the game has a mind of its own... Please help! LE2: So the game only loads FalloutNV.esm and the DLC packs... no matter what I choose... even if i start it with FOMM. I have been working on this for hours now... giving up... Sunnie Posted October 18, 2011 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Ahhhh, New Vegas updates are not numbered like update 1 or 2 or 3. Updates are automatic through Steam. :armscrossed: It sounds a lot like you are using mods that require a game version higher than the version you have installed. The game only loads the caravan/mercenary etc. packs. Even if i set it not to. I've played New Vegas with mods before on a different PC, worked fine, however this one does not. And for the life of me i can't figure out where the problem is. I've checked in the documents and settings folder, and found the plugins.txt and in it there are the mods I'm trying to load yet still they do not load. I've set the fallout.ini so it's not read only. I've reinstalled FOMM about 3 times, and the game 3 times as well. What am I missing? I even tried the LOST tool and still no luck. LE: Could Oblivion cause this? I have it installed and I am using mods for it. LE2: Finally got it to work! I just downloaded an older version of the mod.
