SoHzAssassin
This has become a recurring issue for myself, and some friends, and with a little bit of visual studio debugging, I have found the cure for this. This guide will not cover crashes due to load orders, or misconfigured mods. This is a problem with Fallout 4 by itself. 1. Before installing ANY mods, backup your interface folder, and your strings folder. 2. Verify that you have EN strings in there, should be ILSTRINGS, DLSTRINGS, and STRINGS, with EN in the name. Not ES!3. Download the English Strings for Fallout 4 (respective for your version) from here. Manually, do not use NMM to install: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/97/?4. Extract the EN strings from the zip, and place them in Fallout's STRING folder. Mine is "E:\Games\Fallout 4\Data\Strings". If you installed Steam to the default place, it will be "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Fallout 4\Data\Strings".5. Check again to make sure all the files extracted/copied correctly6. Back out of the folder so you are in the /data directory, right click the "Strings" folder. Click "Properties", then tick "Read-Only". Apply/ close the window.7. Verify that Fallout 4 launches normally If it does not, follow these steps:1. Navigate to the VIDEO folder (...\Fallout 4\Data\Video\"2. Rename "GameIntro_V3_B.bk2" to "GameIntro_V3_B_bk2.BAK"3. Do the same to "Intro.bk2", adding a .BAK at the end4. Relaunch Fallout 4. You should instantly see the title menu, and the game should launch.Happy hunting all. Findanniin
Doesn't do it for me, but thanks for the briefly kindled hope! ;-)
