Extreme flickering cliffs in the distance - With Video.

!!I FOUND A PARTIAL FIX FOR THIS!!

 

Under the program files folder where the FNV.exe is located there is a default.ini file... There is a value in there called "fneardistance" this is usually set to 5, if you change it to 9 it will improve the distant flickering DRAMATICALLY

 

However, once in game the weapons will appear overly close to your hand... to fix this press the ` key to bring up the console... type in "fov" it will now fix the weapon distance...

 

This is an incredible find people, you won't get it better than this, I've searched for weeks...

Went to my Nvidia Control Center and turned negative LOD biase to "Clamp" from "Allow"

 

No problems, several hours of play. I have a bunch of mods and other stuff changed but the flickering got hideous and this fixed it clean clean.

Just to help others with flicker texture issues I'd like to confirm that changing your settings in NVIDIA Control Panel can make your flickers disappear. The weird thing for me was that I changed the quoted setting (called "Texturfiltrering - Negativt detaljförhållande" since I happen to have Swedish language installed) from Global to Clamp. I can't explain this, but basically you might be able to get rid of texture flickering on your NVIDIA powered system if you fiddle with the Control Panel. :laugh:
