Adding bones without stretching the mesh

Hi guys, its me having another problem again.

So an armor im working on has those big shoulder pauldrons, now in Max they arent too wide, however when i equip them in game, they are very weirdly strechted. This obviously seems to be a rigging problem but i cant figgure out a way to make them move normaly without losing their original shape. I guess this could be fixed in the .ssf file (?) but i cant figure out a way to make this in outfit studioa. The only tutorial i can find are CBBE to Vanilla conversions which doesnt really help me at all.
