Taylor17387
Hello. I'm trying to edit in Toolset the cutscene_postcoronation dialogue, but when I open the resource, it's empty, with just the Root in it. Is this normal? How can I restore this resource? Or is there anywhere a builder-to-builder package that I could use as base to work? It's the first time this happens to me. The other resources just open fine. YaraC
The dialogue contains no more lines because all lines had been converted to cutscenes. Check the properties of the resource (right-click); in the tab Referenced by you will find the list of converted lines. Taylor17387
But then this is very strange. That part has dialogue, yet the speak lines in the cutscenes appear empty. Isn't this the file which contains the part when you can ask Alistair for a boon? I've seen mods that modify that dialogue and the plot flags associated with it. For example this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1120/?How can this be done if there's only cutscenes?
YaraC
Well, you have asked if it is normal that the cutscene_postcoronation dialogue is empty and I tried to give an explanation. I have never worked with the epilogue resources. Therefore I do not know exactly how the epilogue is composed. You are right: the related cutscenes contain only invalid lines. That still means not much because some resources in the toolset are left over from development and never used in game. I looked further into the issue - and yes, I agree, it is a bit weird. Everything before and after the boon-related scene is very well traceable but not the boon-related part. I could neither find specific text strings in the database nor any other clues. Ended always in a cul-de-sac. I hope someelse can contribute more and solve this riddle.Though I have never again replayed DAO since I have installed the Ultimate Edition I can´t imagine that resources related to this part are missing. Taylor17387
I have also the Ultimate Edition and the post coronation scene plays fine. I checked the game files, and the dialogue is contained in the designerdialogs.erf. It has 255 lines when opening it in a GFF editor, while the file from Toolset has 0 in the same editor. So I think this is definitely a problem with the Toolset database. Now I don't think this can be solved. The database comes with the Toolset download by default, doesn't it? Maybe the old version of Toolset didn't have this corrupt database, but I've been unable to find it anywhere.
theskymoves
Never mind. (Added nothing of value to the conversation, and so better left unsaid.) Edited June 3, 2016 by theskymoves
