HatterMaster
If a modder, in their infinite wisdom, could splice together even a 5 minute attempt at this, I'd be thankful.I love the look of ghouls and marked men, but I always found it off that despite their brain sticking through they retained their lips, ears and eyelids. I'm wondering if it's possible for someone to make a race, ghoul or not, that has: -no nose like a ghoul-no lips like a super mutant (but without the straps)-more visible eyes, as if they have no eyelids-no earsIn the simplest form, a super mutants mouth minus the straps, or a feral ghouls mouth on a ghoul, even just that would be fantastic :)I'd be really happy if someone could try this or even just tell me if its possible without loads of work ALTERNATIVELY:If that's to complicated (or you don't want to do that, it's your time after all) I'd also appreciate a skin texture for Caucasian male that covered in scars or stitches, not dissimilar to jigsaw of the punisher series. Shantih
Nice idea. I'm using the textures from the Pitt DLC but it's nowhere near what you have in mind. There is a tattoo mod for Fallout 3 that includes some textures for a damaged face: JACKSONS - VANILLA AND BREEZES MALE TATTOOS AND HEADS http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7845 I know it' s not exactly what you have in mind but it may be worth checking it out (it works well with the Old Ghoul Eye mod). HatterMaster
Thanks for the link Shanith, their really really nice :)I'm going to edit the OP to explain it better, basically just a ghoul with super mutant lips if possible, it just always bugged me that they've lost skin, muscle and even bone, yet their lips somehow haven't dropped off, that and walking around the Mojave with next to no face would be quite cool. You also gave me the idea for just a simple retexture from that mod, like the scarred face just a little bit more extreme. After all "rooting around in that noggin' of yours" doesn't sound to precise to me so I imagine you'd be a bit of a mess. Shantih
I'm trying to use existing assets to make a damaged looking character. Mostly the textures from the Pitt DLC with some rags from OWB to cover the face. It should look damaged enough for me. ;) That being said it's a really cool idea. Check out this mod: Many Faces by Xazomnhttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=43815 I haven't tried it myself but I'm guessing the bruises and scars can probably be combined. HatterMaster
sounds brilliant, what textures from The Pitt? :)and nice mod as well. I'd love a face covered in the stitches from C_3B or C_4B but as if there connected instead of just lots of them separate. I've even found some brushes for GIMP/Photoshop that'd probably work a treat for the interconnecting look, I just don't have GIMP, Photoshop or the know how to make a custom race. HatterMaster
Smack on the wrist for a double post but this is addressed to anyone and everyone. Could someone please direct me to were the face textures are located or post the male Caucasian face texture for me? I've got no idea how to implement it but i figured I'd give the texture a shot myself since I could at least use it to explain what i meant. Shantih
Gimp is free but if you find it daunting then you should get Paint.NET it allows you to edit DDS files with ease and it's free too. As far as getting textures, it's easy, all you need is the archive utility to open the BSA texture file and then extract the ones you want to modify. FO3 Archive Utility by ScripterRonhttp://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34 The human textures for faces/heads are the same for all playable races. There are some differences between male and female but in vanilla only outlandish characters get their own textures (like raiders, ghouls, Christine from Dead Money). You will find what you need in textures/characters/male, look for headhuman.dds that's the one you want to modify. Making a custom race in the Geck is not difficult. You have to select an existing race and right click to duplicate it so you won't modify existing characters. Then it's all a matter of putting the right file paths in the different categories. If it looks daunting you can check out the custom race I've uploaded and even use it as a template: Courier Racehttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36479 It's rather basic I'm afraid but that may help you get started. EDIT: regarding the textures from the Pitt I was talking about the ones for the mutants there, with the diseased skin and all that. If you have the Pitt DLC you can extract the textures and use them in FNV. Bear in mind that you can't upload them however (so using them in a mod means you can't upload this mod). HatterMaster
Bloody hell I didn't realise it was you, that's one of my favourite mods and the inspiration behind this :)and only really thinking about GIMP since the brushes I've found are intended for it so its just be a case of open, whack them on and fiddle a bit so they have a smoother transition. good idea using those textures as well, it should look awesome when its done, would you mind posting a pick if you do it so I can have a look?oh and here's a link to those brushes if you fancie a look GIMP Stitches and Sutures Edit: the Pitt texture looks like it'd be good for fixing the burned man's lazily done face as well, might get the pitt to raid the files haha Edited October 20, 2011 by HatterMaster
Shantih
Well HatterMaster I'm glad if my mod gave you ideas. I can only encourage you to start working on these textures. Seems to me you have a pretty good idea of what you want to do and how to do it. If you're looking for a perfect Burned Man experience this is the mod for you: Authentic Burned Man by Rockethttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41974 By the way there is also this mod that adds different scars to the courier: Geonox The Hero Racehttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38221 And if you like my mod you will enjoy this one: Headshot scar by scothttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35839 Still if you ask me there is one must have mod for a scarred character and that's the truly awesome Old Ghoul Eye by Antistarhttp://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40678
HatterMaster
Nice mods and I have ghoul eye, makes for some amazingly fun builds haha. getting myself a copy of Photoshop on Monday and found a tutorial for some simple scars so ill give this a crack then, see if I can manage to cover the face with interconnecting scar lines without it looking like its painted on, if not, well I'll have some fun deforming the poor courier in other ways, like scarred mouth, eyes etc. and if that goes well I might give a full body a shot, would be cool to be covered in tally marks and have Benny scored onto your flesh. I can always hope someone gives this a crack themselves till then for a better outcome.Just in case someone does give it a shot I found a picture of a Lego jigsaw head for a base (it's the only straight on picture were scars are visible and there isn't loads of shadow)
