fancyaudiparts
I'm going to just start from the top here. I was simply looking for a simple bug fix when I ran into a few things that would help smooth out my framerate issue in the city areas. I decided to give them a try and they were just adjusting some graphic card settings and modifying one line in the .ini files for some mouse smoothing. I changed what was needed, didn't mess with anything else. Loaded the game back up and launched it through NMM like always. I was still experiencing the bug I ran into but the game ran just fine as well as all my mods. When I fast traveled, my game froze on a loading screen to the point where I had to terminate the game through the task manager. Even then, music was still playing in the background. I restarted my computer, loaded up NMM, and tried to relaunch the game. This time though, I got a pop-up notification on NMM stating that my .ini files needed to be modified before installing any mods. I backed out, rechecked my .ini files and found that they were still modified to accept mods. Nothing changed. I reloaded NMM, launched the game, and this time I got a Steam notification that Fallout was updating, even though I updated Fallout a couple weeks ago for the new Survival mode. I loaded a save, and found that NONE of my mods are working. Not a one and not even different profiles for different characters. I loaded up my previous .ini file backups and applied those. Still no change, still no mods. I disabled my mods, loaded up a game, saved with no mods, re-enabled my mods, re-loaded that saved game with no mods, and still found that my mods werent working. I poked around a bit and found that my plugin.txt file had some asterisks next to .esm files as I read that after the update, these could change. I set asterisks next to a few .esp mods that didn't have them, saved the file, set the file to read-only and launched the game with the vanilla .exe launcher. Still no change. I have the Automatron expansion installed, no Far Harbor. I have already updated both NMM and Fallout 4 to their newest updates and I have NEVER had an issue with any of my mods up to this point. Again, my mods ran just fine after both updates, launching from NMM, and so on and so forth. I have quadruple checked my .ini files and they are exactly how they have always been. I am at a complete loss at this point. Everything was fine up until the moment the game froze at a loading screen and I restarted my computer. My guess is some file got deleted or corrupted but I don't know what could have happened. Any help would be appreciated. I also want to mention that when I try and sort my load order using LOOT, I get this pop-up notification: Error code: 1; Failed to sort plugins. Details: libloadorder failed to set the load order. Details: "C:\Users\"namehere"\AppData\Local\Fallout4\plugins.txt" could not be written. Details: ios_base::badbit set: iostream stream error I get this message no matter if the plugins.txt file is set to read-only or not. I have never gotten this message before. Sharlikran
Make sure you have installed 61.23 of NMM if you haven't already. Some people think they have the latest version of NMM but don't for some reason, so hit the check for update button. Then get loot 0.9.0 either from the Nexus or Github. After you are certain you have those installed do this.1. Go to C:\Users\<<username>>\AppData\Local\Fallout42. Delete the loadorder.txt because none of the programs I mentioned make it or manage it anymore if you have the latest versions. Also delete plugins.txt.3. Run your Fallout 4 launcher at least once but you don't have to do anything with it. It will set things up so programs see your install, like LOOT for example needs the information Steam applies to windows.3. Go to C:\Users\<<username>>\AppData\Local\LOOT or %localappdata% and delete settings.yaml because 0.9.0 isn't compatible with older settings files.4. Sort with LOOTOnce your mods are sorted, then run NMM and enable your mods. Edited June 1, 2016 by Sharlikran
