New nexus site!!

So I've been thinking for a long time that there aren't any (very) good sites for GTA Mods, and then it occured to me that maybe Nexus will "buy" the concept. It's just a suggestion and it's a H¤¤¤ of a good one aswell and some of my friends think so to.

Please leave feedback and/or other suggestion how to improve the idea.

I find that http://www.gta4-mods.com/ is a very nice site for GTA4 mods. I do know what you mean for any GTA game prior to 4 though. I don't really think that GTA fits the theme of the Nexus, and since there are many other functional sites there isn't really the need. Another problem may be that since GTA4 is the newest release people will not upload GTA3 or vice city mods, so nexus would be competing with the other nice GTA4 mod site. I also think that for a nexus site to be made the game must have official mod tools, which GTA4 definitely doesn't. Just to get it working with most mods using the steam version you need to unpatch your game, download a gfwl remover, mess around with the R* games social club thing and get 3rd party addons such as alice and other script enablers, not to mention the pain of mods not working because of different version of the game like 1.04 and 1.07. You have a good concept but there are just too many variables conflicting with it for a site to be created.

Id like to a new Nexus site too. But instead of a game specific site Id like to see a general mod site for all sorts of misc. games. Like Red Alert C&C maps (Any RTS), GTA mods, WoW plugins, EVE Online overview and UI setups, game saves and .INI tweaks for everything. Be a cool way to test if mods for a certain game could explode into their own site. Yup that would be interesting. :)

As much as I agree with BeyondTom but that.... isn't a bad idea actually :D

A misc. modsite would be a great idea for different modders to show their talents in other games.

And I know where to find mods for GTA but I think it would boost the register number on The Nexus a bit, you know get a little more of those million competitions.

The only reason a game gets a site as far as I'm aware is that if Dark0ne is interested in the game and if it has a modding toolset.

You mean "official" toolsets then because there are some games that have amazing "fanmade" toolsets.

Maybe Dark0ne will listen to the community on this one because it can not only be his interest in the games that govern the decision of new sites. But i guess it cost a lot to keep the servers up and running so another site would maybe be a little expensive.

i agree a misc site would be a nice touch.... but maybe Dark0ne thought of a misc site already? Cause i mean when you go to make something like the nexus sites, where your gonna make multiple ones for multiple games, your obviously going to think up all the ones you want to do, and any practical ones too so you'd think it'd run across his mind already in which case that could imply that he has his reasons for not doing one...
