Samoneil76
Ok, this is a long story. It started with me installing a lot of mods and the game workign fine. After about a year I decide to install a few more aswell as mods from Bethesdas add on system. This broke my game when I tried to go into a save. I decide to get rid of all my nexus mods and try again, same crash. (I still get this crash when I press 'New Game'). I uninstall Nexus mod manager and the same thing happens. I then verify integrity of game cache with steam and, again, the same crash. I completely uninstall the game and reinstall it; the same crash occurs. I cannot play Fallout 4 past the title screen. Even after I deleted all local content and reinstalled the game, there were still mod files in the game. So, I reinstalled mod manager and went through my mod history and reinstalled most of the mods I could see in the files. This didnt work again. I disabled al lthe mods and again, crash. I just need some help to try to get my game working again, its not even about the mods anymore. I just want to play the damn game. I Have a GTX 970 and I am on Win 10. Edit: Sorry if I did anything wrong, first time posting. Edited June 2, 2016 by Samoneil76
RS13
Is the trouble just loading a save? Or can you not even start a new game? Second question: have you altered your .ini files? Those do not reset on uninstall. Third Question: after you uninstalled the game, did you delete your Fallout 4 folder? Steam will not delete files that you have added to your fallout 4 folder whether they be in the root folder or in Fallout 4/Data. Samoneil76
1. I could not load any of my saves. I cannot make a new game either. 2.I may have but, I dont remember. Do I have to delete them and let the game make new .ini files? 3.I did not, shall I delete my game and then both the files in Documents>my games>Fallout 4 and the data folder? RS13
Yes, delete your ini files, delete the game folder after uninstall. If you're gonna uninstall/reinstall you need to delete EVERYTHING. You can keep saves, but every other thing must go. I'd recommend hunting down the plugins.txt and moving it to your desktop. (I think it should probably be deleted, but I'm not sure, so for the moment, let's move it to some place the game can't find it.)
