Some mods working, some not

So I have spent about 20 hours total trying to fix my mods, and I have found for me, that I CANNOT have:

[Archive]

bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

in Fallout4Custom.ini otherwise my game just refuses to start a new game, or a save file. With that being said, some mods work, and others do not. I have noticed, that the mods that don't appear are ones that edit the textures. This is really bother some, and if someone, ANYONE, knows a fix of some sort for this PLEASE let me know, kuz I am going insane.

enabling mods

In Fallout4Prefs.ini, scroll to the bottom to find the [Launcher] section. Directly beneath the [Launcher] header, enter:

bEnableFileSelection=1

from ign ca wikia

this is originally from the front page site news section for Fallout 4

If you aren’t using NMM or Bethesda.net and still wish to enable mods manually, please note that the usage of the plugins.txt file has changed. Though it's still located in your %appdata% directory (i.e., something like c:\users\sirsalami\appdata\local\fallout4), it no longer contains references to core files / dlc plugins. Also, you MUST add an asterisk (*) before the entry for each modded plugin. For instance, a properly enabled plugins.txt file will now look something like this:

# This file is used by Fallout4 to keep track of your downloaded content.

# Please do not modify this file.

*Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch.esp

*LongerDeathReloadTime.esp

*DarkerNights.esp

*DarkerNightsDetection.esp

*Campsite.esp

*CMPA +150.esp

*SOS_SleepOrSave.esp

We’ll be updating the wiki to reflect these changes, accordingly.

Do not add a asterisks symbol's on the main game and dlc esm in the plugin ini text and you might have to set the text to read-only if your using the f4se_loader to launch the game or your plugin ini text well reset and lose all mod entry's!.

Did you set the plugin ini text in C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Fallout4 to read only???? if you don't set it to read only it resets and mods wont work, I don't use NMM so unsure how NMM handles the plugin ini text

Well, of course I have bought it on steam! Also, yeah, the plugins.ini is read-only. Everything I have done to research is telling me, I should have no problems. Now, NMM does say that "SOME MODS REQUIRE YOU TO CHANGE THE FALLOUT4CUSTOM.INI TO WORK" and I can't do that. What I am guessing is that by putting in that bit of code (i guess you could say) acts as FOMOD which I have seached and have not gotten a clear answer as what that is. I'm thinking, maybe I may have to manually put FOMOD into my game or something? I don't know I am just, so lost. As you've seen, it makes no sense at all.
