Implementing hair

Okay, I decided to take all my mods and make proper modules of them so I can avoid conflicts and easily add more mods to it later. Specifically, I decided to start with some hair mods (specifically Ren's, Soya and Babehair, though I'm just doing the latter two for now so I can get it working first). I used "The Oblivion File Merger" (wonderful tool by the way) to merge the hair groups from both esp's (to save me some work and preserve the IDs for compatibility reasons) and created a master file from this. With the Oblivion esm and my new hair esm, I created a new esp which basically just added all the 9 new hair styles to the Imperial.

Loading the game with the Oblivion esm, my hair esm and my hair esp, I can get the hair mesh with name and everything to show up on the Imperial just fine. The problem is that it is solid black and won't change color. The hairstyles are not flagged as fixed color, so that's not it. The only thing I can think of is that I moved and renamed the meshes and textures and changed the path for the hairstyles (I wanted all of the files in a "hair" folder, again for modularization purposes and changed the names while I was at it anyway). Just to make sure, I also tried loading the original Soya esp only, and the hair was working perfectly fine so that isn't the problem.

So, I guess the question is; what caused this? More importantly, how do I fix it? I have zero experience with meshes/textures and very little with actually using the CS (first time I've even opened it in a year), so try to use layman's terms.
