amycus
Lore is pretty much the same as the "mythology" of the game world.LOD=Level of detail, though I havn't heard anything of skyrim using it. It's used in Dragon age though, and there it is just a way to make the game run smoother, since objects that are far away will be switched to lower resolution models and textures. As the player gets closer, they are switched to the higher resolution and higher polygon versions. Edited October 22, 2011 by amycus

chikawowwow
LOD--- best way to think of it; Land in distance-- such as a house will be blurred when you're 1 mile away, as you get closer it should gradually appear more detailed the closer you get. What Amycus said is right but works better in DX11.

elvinkun
Ok i'm still not getting Lore though. If you know what word Lore" means, you're halfway there. If you don't, then you won't be there even if I tell you. The lore here is the game world, it's (I stress this one) history, it's present, it's gods, religions, cultures... It's what the world is. When the game (or a book, a movie...) is not set in "our" world, the lore is defining what the world is. Lore is the general knowledge about the world. amycus
Here is a link on all the lore of skyrim, if you are interested. Should give you an idea of what it is:http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Main_Page Also, when someone says that a mod isn't lore-friendly, it's because the mod is somehow going against what has already been established in the established lore (once again, see link above). One example could be adding guns to a game where the people aren't even supposed to know gunpowder yet. EDIT: Only just now noticed that this was a discussion on the enw vegas forum. Somehow I thought it was in the area for skyrim. My bad. Edited October 22, 2011 by amycus
