Stuck with Damarask and Ruined Tail's Tale

Hello all,

I'm hoping to get an answer to some things that I just can't seem to find anywhere. I've basically stalled with both of these mods and I can't see any further way forward. Can somebody please help?

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT

Damarask

In DAMARASK, I am up to the mission called 'Diplomatic Immunity' where you must spring a prisoner from the dungeons beneath the mountain. I've entered via the secret entrance and taken out all the guards. However, I've now reached a point where there is a huge rock in the way that is clearly moveable but is not budging in the slightest. Taking a look at my local map, I see that there is an entrance almost on the spot of where I stand facing the boulder, but there is no way to access it.

I've tried going through the dungeons by the normal route and encountered the same boulder, but it won't budge any way I approach it and I still can't see the entrance to this mythical doorway that appears on the local map despite at one time being almost stood on it. I've searched high and low around both areas but I can't see any way to progress nor any sign of this prisoner that I'm supposed to rescue. There's nothing like this in the walkthrough. Any ideas?

Ruined Tail's Tale

In RUINED TAIL'S TALE, Ruin has been killed by the Shadowscale Assassins and I've met him on 'the other side'. I also got a letter from the Shadowscale Assassin that tried to kill me. According to the walkthrough, I have to drop this letter in the area I originally found Ruin. Yet I have tried to do so in various locations. I know that he begins under the shelter where some potential Arena combatants are practising but that he originally ran towards me where I was standing at the Arena's entrance. I've tried dropping the parchment all over this area but I still have no luck with progressing. Any ideas?

Any help for either of these would be hugely appreciated as I feel a little bit left out, seeing as there are walkthroughs for each one and yet the problem appears to be unsolvable. Thanks for anything you can offer.

(plaintive cry of...) HELP!

A code would do.

Why do so many of the mods I download have problems that aren't mentioned in any walkthroughs that are given (as these two are) and yet don't appear to be bugs as such? Even when I run a conflict detector for the mods I use, there appears to be nothing significant about these two. Am I the only one with these problems?

Could ANYONE please give me an indication of what's going on by at least saying 'It worked okay for me'? At least then I've got SOMETHING to go on...

Thanks, TT. Is there anyone out there that could tell me exactly where they dropped the letter? Is there anyone with any more thoughts on Damarask?

  • 2 weeks later...

No one I've spoken to seems to have the same fault that I have with Damarask but how can this be due to mods or some other kind of fiddling on my part when it's a small part of a mission that cannot possibly conflict with anything because it's an entirely separate part of the game world?

Where I am is in the mountain tunnels through the first door. Eventually, you come to a gate. Just inside this gate that I unlocked ages ago there is a rock wall that is strangely unmoveable, beyond which lies an entrance/exit that is clearly marked on the map as 'Factory' despite there being no visible means of reaching from either entrance. Further on past the unmoveable rock was a guard in a torture chamber who I killed so long ago that his body has disappeared. I'm certain I searched his body because I just do that out of habit. At the far end of the chamber is a prison which I can clearly remember had no prisoner inside. This baffled me at the time as I strongly anticipated the finding of what I was looking for.

Can anybody who has played this at least try to shed some sort of light on it, even if you're just saying 'it worked for me'? At least then I can look at how on earth my system suffers from such an irregular error. OR....

Please offer a cheat out of this, like a code or something so that I can continue.
