sheep trouble

You will need to make sure all your animals are in compatible factions. Like if you had sheep from the "Prey" faction in with wolves from the "Creature" faction then the sheep would run away in fear.

 

Be sure that you are using the proper AI packages. If you copied sheep and they had a package telling them to hang around in the fields near Skingrad, they aren't going to stay in your pen. They will run off to Skingrad.

What factions are the sheep in?

 

What factions are the other creatures in?

 

Is your pen properly path-gridded?

 

Is your pen big enough? If it is too small, your creatures are likely to spawn on the wrong side of the fence. You could sort of fix this by putting custom AI packages on them telling them to find the gate and go in to the area on the correct side of the fence. The gate would have to be open, or the creatures would have to be really smart to be able to open the gate.

 

What are the confidence and aggression settings of your animals? You need to make aggression very low, like 5 and confidence something like 30 or higher.
