Odai
EVERYTHING... love it all. So long I added a spoiler More puzzles, more traps, more depth... then better combat, more dedicated magic, new spells and the return of old favorites... much better animations, made pickpocketing a do-able thing, made stealth feel more city-life as opposed to dungeon-survivor. Return of Enchant, the new smithing system (my leather armor will be good throughout the game!), and the refined alchemy/cooking. The addition of RP aspects... fishing, hunting, farming, working a woodmill, etc. The new inheritance system, the new use identifier, quests pick up no matter when you acquire them...etc (Radiant Story) You get approached about dropped equipment, friends let you take stuff, people actually get drunk, animals use pack dynamics, etc (Radiant AI) The variation in animals... 3 types of troll, 2 different color spiders, several dragons and draugr,,, I am very impressed. MOVING WATER, DYNAMIC SNOW, DYNAMIC SHADOWS, DYNAMIC WEATHER PATTERNS... OMG Fixed scale level scaling... yeah, you know what I mean... FO3 style but better. Return of faction CHOICE. SCR and TIL Needing SKILL and interest to be recruited by factions Needing skill to do anything. .... this list can go on, but hey... I said everything. mikedepreston
I'm also disappointed that some of the NPCs in towns will be nameless like in fallout .. this might have changed but thats what was discribed back in the podcast. Nameless NPCs....talk about filler. If it means that towns will be more vibrant because of having more people in them, then I'm all for it. And quality content for the NPCs who want to engage you in conversation rather than a large quantity of named inhabitants who only have "rumours" as a conversation option. jedimembrain
lemme point out it wasn't the podcast I heard that from .. now I'm doubting myself .. I know it was official and not rumor cause I never believe second hand information .. EVER .. I'll only make a mental note of something if it came from a interview or video or pro preview of sorts .. but now I need to figure out where I heard it .. it was very early on and I would imagine it came from the original gameinformer hub ..but that thing is huge and I just listened to 2 hours of podcasts trying to find the original source ~_~; .. meh .. tomorrow .. honestly I hope I'm just having a mental lapse and I never read or heard that anywhere lols. ajrunke
Is there a good source somewhere that gives a detailed explanation and images about the inventory system/ui? I have seen stills, but not really enough to give me a feel for how the system works. I have to say that I loved the modded Darnified UI in Oblivion. I enjoyed an alternative screen strictly for inventory management and the breakdown of the categories made it simple to navigate through. While the new ui looks sleek, I can't help but be concerned that if they attempt to cram all of the quests, maps, alchemy, clothing, food, misc items, weapons, books, spells and so on into the new system, that it will take a while just to scroll to find what you need. Edit: The above post is the first that I heard about fishing. Is it weird to be excited about having fishing in a game???? Tell me I'm normal for being excited about fishing. :turned: Edited October 23, 2011 by ajrunke
Cyberote
Oh wow. There's a whole lot to be said here. The Argonians, Khajiit and Orcs all got MAJOR remodeling. They look amazing! Not that the other races don't, but those three especially. I also like how the art direction is going to the gritty side. Oblivions radiant colors kinda bugged me at times and also the character models were way too clean. Skyrims look like they're real people living in this world. Igetbabes
I'm also disappointed that some of the NPCs in towns will be nameless like in fallout .. this might have changed but thats what was discribed back in the podcast. Nameless NPCs....talk about filler. Why Bethesda? I hope we still get that 60000 lines of dialogue that was promised...My guess is they liked the idea from Fallout, and kept it. For the player that leans toward senseless murder, this is great news; all the killin' without the guilt of ending a named person's life! This doesn't really bug me, as long as I don't run into a bunch of clones named "villager." Funny side note: a less-informed preview mentioned finding the body of a "woman named Breton" on the road. Amateurs. This may indicate that the generic NPC's are named by their race. it kinda makes it more realistic, cause you dont just walk into a town and then know everybodys name, that would be cool if they kept it as villager until they introduced themselves
