Shinteke Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Recently when I go to speak to any NPC in game, Oblivion crashes. I've tried disabling all of my mods, and I have the latest update, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Balakirev Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Not until you list your mods, in loading order. Also, you might want to explain what you changed in your lineup between the time everything worked well, and that "recently" point you describe, above.
Shinteke Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 Update: I removed my mods and the game is still crashing.
Balakirev Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Sounds, then, like the problem may have happened due to a certain configuration of mods, and has now corrupted the save game. What configuration it is we won't know until we know your mod loading order. One other possibility: are you using quicksave and/or autosave?

Shinteke Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 It also occurs when starting a new game, and now it will also crash when I am too close to a NPC.
Maskar Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 So, anything speech related then. My guess would be either Oblivion being corrupted (needing reinstalling) or a windows issue, like a driver or a program ''fixing'' sound somehow (like Alchemy.exe to make EAX working on Windows 7).
Shinteke Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 Ok, problem solved. Old Hand you were right it just needed reinstalling.
