Deleted3066248User
Hey, I just spent the better part of an hour trying to locate and extract dialogue files from The Witcher 2 - unsuccessfully. I'm particularly interested in the dialogue of the cutscene at the start of Chapter 2, in which Geralt meets a group of rather humorous dwarves. Any assistance in rectifying my stupidity would be welcome. Thanks.
mortealre
The audio files are - i think - in the file cookedPC/en0.w2speech , a sort of pack, maybe. The subtitles are in the file cookedPC/en0.w2strings, the english ones. This other kind of file can be decoded using gibbed red tool.
Deleted3066248User
That's a start; at least I know where the damn thing is now (although, given it's filename, I should have seen it sooner). I did a little research and I don't know if it's even possible to extract the audio.
mortealre
It isn't, unless you find the way that files are encoded. Edited October 25, 2011 by mortealre
