skullangel
So I was watching youtube and saw the new ad for Independence Day: Resurgence I thought... What the heck? This would make a great HUGE DLC for Fallout 4?orA great Stand alone game? Seeing they dabbled into synths in Fallout 3...What would stop them From making Zeta Aliens the big antagonists in Future Fallout 4 DLC or Stand alone? CyrusAmell
Well, they did something similar in Fallout 3 known as "Mothership Zeta" which I think was well reviewed. Funny thing is, some of the US soldiers who were captured and held in cryo aboard the vessel actually served in the same military company as the male Sole Survivor. So we can imagine the possibility of strange encounters if they do try to make a new Zeta DLC. Considering there is already a Zetan alien in the game, along with an operational Zetan pistol, they would have a head start on making assets for the DLC. However, Bethesda would need to put a new spin on the DLC to avoid a total rehash of Mothership Zeta. Last time it was a single ship, will it be another ship? Will it have crashed or will it still be in space? Decisions... Frankly, the Zetans are too much of a sideshow to be a standalone premise for a new Fallout game. The series is based on post-apocalyptic themes, not pure sci-fi. Again, the only thing that would stop Bethesda from making a Zetan-based DLC is if they are not eager to retread old ground covered in Mothership Zeta. What would really be interesting is to see how the main factions in the game react to such an encounter. I'd like it if the Institute or Brotherhood could be more conductive than their possible role in Far Harbor allowed. Especially for the Institute, I would like access to new weapons, even if it is just based on new legendary effects. I do have one idea for the DLC. Picture this: "Remnants of the Enclave have lured a Zetan vessel to Earth with a false distress beacon. Hoping to steal the ship, the alien vessel was downed by an Enclave superweapon and crashed on the Canadian border. Now the Enclave and the alien crew fight for control of the vessel and the right to leave Earth. Brave the radioactive Canadian frontier and take part in a war between worlds. You must decide who will win this conflict and take to the stars." Edited June 7, 2016 by CyrusAmell

Gilibran
I think there is a link between the Zeta's and the institute, how did they invent the teleport technology? Either by themselves, though i doubt that, it's way more advanced then anything else we see, even the whole synth making process. So either they reversed engineered it from a downed Zeta ship, or the Zeta's simply exchanged the teleporter technology for the synth making process. Think about it, the synths are easy test subjects for the Zeta's. And the abillity to make countless is a lot safer then kidnapping humans with the risk of kidnapping that one wrong human that takes over their ship and destroys another. We know they are technological more advanced but not so much more superior in any way. Perhaps it goes even further and they are actively working together with institute scientists in some remote location or even off world base. No matter how you solved the mainquest there is enough ground for a Zeta DLC. If you chose to join the institute you might have to deal with those off world scientists gone rogue or if you destroyed the institute they might come after you for revenge. CyrusAmell
While the Institute is quick to congratulate itself (thoroughly), they are not the only human group to create a working teleport system. That honor also belongs to the scientists of Big MT (New Vegas DLC), so this tells us that such technology is not completely beyond the ability of mankind in this setting. So it is unlikely that the Institute absolutely needed the help of Zetans to create their molecular dematerializer unless both they and Big MT received aid from the aliens. zanity
Well, the aliens have been a BAD fit for the Fallout world since DAY ONE. They are inserted today as an EASTER EGG- not as a fundamental part of the game world. And they reference cheesy US TV shows from the 70s and 80s, that had a habit of introducing 'aliens' when the writers were all out of proper ideas. That being said, a FACTION mod that had an alien faction 'invade' Fallout 4 for some nefarious purpose (preferably the one from Duke Nukem- ie., 'stealing' Earth babes) would be pretty cool- the main dungeon could be the holding location for all the kidnapped women awaiting shipping to the alien mothership. But Independence Day- YUCK. Love the film (hope against hope that the sequel will be OK), but this has NOTHING to do with the post apocalyptic world of Fallout 4. Surely if you want that kinda thing, you'll go play a computer game with that theme- I think the PS3 had lots of them. What is it with the mod requests that don't want to add in-character content, but esentially redesign FO4 into a completely DIFFERENT game?
