Skyrim System Reqs Revised?

The new system requirements recommend 1GB of VRAM. My GeForce GTX460 GC, which I bought specifically for Skyrim when the recommendation was 512MB, is only 768MB. How much do you think this will impact performance on max textures, but at a 1440x900 resolution? Will the resolution possibly make up for my lower VRAM? Edited October 26, 2011 by Rennn

I think you will be fine at that resolution, perhaps not with max settings, but certainly with some mixture of High settings.

According to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:System_Requirements a GTX460 with 768MB supports High/Very High.

 

hwcompare reports 150 Watt usage (vs 160 Watt in 1GB version), same texel rate, similar pixel rate, only a couple of FPS less.

The amount of VRAM you have doesn't make the slightest bit of difference unless you run out of it, I can't see you having an issues at that resolution.
