nickru58
I'd like to reskin the battle dress and helmet for the DD soldiers so that the clothing, the armor pieces Vest, thight plates, Shin and knee guards Vest Shoulder pads, armor guards, and glove plates, and helmet for the HP Balcalva i think are all Olive Drab Green preferably a darker green and everything else like the clothes, boots, pouches, Balcalva and all that are black. If someone else could either do this for me or tell me the location of the textures for the balcalva helmet and battle dress for DD soldier is that would be great. i know how to unpack everything including textures and im experienced with reskinning textures so if you just want to tell me the location. i picked apart all the texture.dat files but only found the msf stuff and the special outfits. also id like to know how to make snakebite mods because thats how i install them i think you use makebite but when i checked the highest MGSV version was 1.0.6.0. I noticed you could type numbers but i don't know if it goes to the current version which is 1.0.9.0 i think Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this Edited June 9, 2016 by nickru58
BobDoleOwndU
Balaclava: texture0.dat\Assets\tpp\chara\dds\Pictures\dds5_eqhd0_def_c00_bsm Battledress: texture0.dat\Assets\tpp\chara\sna\Pictures\sna5_main0_def_bsm You might have to edit the pftxs of the soldiers and Snake as well to get the textures to work right. For Snakebite use this tutorial.
nickru58
Thank you SOOOOO Much Edit. I looked under that already and just checked again but don't have them and the files that i do have are the medic and soldier from msf so did i unpack all my stuff wrong. Im trying again right now. Edit. ok so i think i forgot to update the dictionary Edit ok yea so that wasnt it i have no clue what im doing wrong but when i extract texture0.dat theres only medic and MSF textures in there GRRRRRRR no gimp wont even open up the image and now i dont have a sna4 or sna5 Edit so ive got everything edited and might just have to edit the pftxs might need help though Edit ok so i need to edit the pftxs everything extracts but when i convert the files ftex files it wont open in gimp like it used to i wouldnt have needed to edit the pftxs but only the right side arm and leg + the vest is recolored everything else is not reskined so anyone have thoughts on why i cant open up the dds files? OK thanks a bunch so after much more hours and a whole looooong night i got the body to work by editing the numbered textures in the texture0 but i only found one texture for the helmet. im not sure where the helmet texture would be in the pftxs folders so if you know the numbers for the helmet under texture0 i think there will be three because thats how many body textures there are. or if you know where the helmet textures are under the pftxs. also i had to use the numbered textures because there werent the same texture files in chunk as there were texture so i don't know if that is normal or not so i figure everything out except for the helmet but to counter that i just took the color of the helmet from one of the files i found and used that for my Olive Drab camo thanks for all your help!!!!! BobDoleOwndU
Inside the pftxs there are only partial textures. You have two choices. Install the edited textures to texture0, and take the .ftex and .1.ftex and replace the ones that are in the pftxs files. Or, you can install the full textures to the pftxs by dragging in all of the ftex files (.ftex, .1.ftex, .2.ftex, .3.ftex) and adding the entries for them in the xml generated by GzsTool. If you use the second option, you won't need to install the textures to texture0.
