ThePriest909
How did you generate the distant land view for your landmass? Is it necessary to have a powerful PC?? I tried it and my Construction Set crashed over and over, so my island has no distant lands view... not even for the grass... my PC has 2 giga RAM, is that not enough? Well... I used a quad - 3.0Ghz processor + 4 gigs ram but...I 'm pretty sure it can be done by your system too...When we are talking about crashes during the lod generation then the solution is... "heightmap".I'm quoting these few lines I found at CS wikki: Fixing mesh errors Here's where the going gets a bit rough. The lanscape you just created probably has some errors. These errors show up as "rips" in the landscape mesh which wouldn't be all that dramatic, but when the CS saves your esp, it can not save cells with such errors in them. Which means, when you reload a plugin with such a faulty cell, those cells will be gone, they will be gaping holes dropping down to 0 elevation. Therefore we need to fix these rips before we save our plugin. These rips occur most frequently around cell 0,0 and other corners where four quads meet, if you have more than four. It seems that CS is not able to handle these errors when the time comes to generate the distand LOD quad meshes....I had similar CS crashing issues during my first worldbuilding tests and the only solution I found was ... "erosion"...Only after a specific amount of erosion I was able to create an error-free heightmap. If your heightmap is well-balanced and smooth the rest of the work ( region generation, texturing, etc) will become much more easier and error-free. TheTerminator2004
Wow, that's a lot of screens... and all of them look so good, too- I especially like that last one, very original bit of world design there. :)
ThePriest909
Wow, that's a lot of screens... and all of them look so good, too- I especially like that last one, very original bit of world design there. :)A really big thanks for the feedback :)It is extremly hard to get this project moving all by myself and feedback is the only thing that keeps me active. Taking as a starting point the last words of Terminator, if there's something I don't like in my project untill now is that, because I had no time to make new models ( trees-rocks -flora) some places look like Tamriel... but...in any case the new land has been built only for technical and lore reasons. It's only a "clean" place were I can build my quests. Septim! LoL Behind the meaning of what you just wrote up there... I'm really impressed by the way you use the words!!! No kidding!!! LoL How's going with OE... Man_in_the_Hat ( nice nickname by the way :) ) I can do texturing but, I'm afraid I'm not a good modeler and it really takes quite some time for me to create a simple blade mesh.So... I believe I'm not good enough for the job...
ThePriest909
well, i would like to help out \ join ur wonderfully awsome project. Im pretty good with the construction set too. /sweeping-bow please get back to me Thanks M.I.T.H.I'm currendly working on the worldbuilding though....New models are going to be added as soon as the "MainQuest-related world" will be ready and fully functional.So... You might have to wait for some time untill then...I' will PM you and in case you haven't released them allready with someone else's help, I can ask a friend (modeler) to work on it.
