How do I install "NV Error Corrections - Reduce CTD" "by T

Recommended Posts

I have not installed a mod before, this "program" fixes buges and glitches but i'm not sure if it is called a mod, sorry.

I have downloaded the rar (from http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=44204#content) and opened it and I see multiple esp files and some folders. When I try to run an esp files my computer says it doesn't recognize the type of file and tells windows to go online to find out about the file type. (As predicted, to no avail.)

What do I do to install the mods? I have Windows 7 64-Bit BTW.

First have you read the mod description and the readme? I'm just saying that because I've just been to the page of this mod and there is a link to a readme that explains what you have to do:

http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/readmes/NV%20Error%20Corrections%20-%20Reduce%20CTD_readme.txt

And this readme mentions a pdf document that is included in the archive (the one you've unrared). So I suggest you consult these documents first.

In any case, you will need Fallout Mod Manager:

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36901

This tool allows you to modify your load order and to enable esm and esp files so that they will be loaded when you start the game.

To enable a mod you have to tick the box next to its name.

Make sure Fallout esm is at the top then the DLCs and other esm and then the esp files.

I hope this helps. It may look rather confusing at first but once you get used to this it's not that difficult.
