zer0morph
Just how much do you want the game to be "The Sims: Dovahkiin Edition".
chikawowwow
Just how much do you want the game to be "The Sims: Dovahkiin Edition". It's a choice. Does adding the choice of cooking to Skyrim make it- "Cooking Mama: Dragon Entrails".

chikawowwow
No, but I would totally buy that for my DS. Would be quite interesting now you mention it. The question is, is dragon su-flay a pot,pan or oven job?
jedimembrain
Just how much do you want the game to be "The Sims: Dovahkiin Edition". So sick of people saying sh*t like this .. first off.. there is nothing wrong with the sims .. second.. this is an RPG not an action game .. RPG believe it or not stands for "role playing game" .. a good role player builds lots of back story for their character and partakes in roleplay outside of just combat .. Look into the D&D fanbase .. thats where it all started and thats what skyrim is all about .. Todd Howard is a major nerd and makes these games to be the biggest and most immersive role playing games on the market .. and him and his team do a great job! .. they are expending into more immersive worlds every time they make a new game and this is one of the newest features .. it doesn't subrtract from your hack and slash combat it just adds to the experience. You guys on these forums need to seriously take a break from the macho "kill everything!" take on this game .. if thats all it was it would be an extremely mainstream borefest .. and It gets old hearing "skysims" or "skyfable" .. we get it .. your a manly man and wanna kill thing .. marriage and friends are for pussy sims fans
Alistat
Just how much do you want the game to be "The Sims: Dovahkiin Edition". It's a choice. Does adding the choice of cooking to Skyrim make it- "Cooking Mama: Dragon Entrails".Its an opinion. This is an opinion in a Skyrim opinion thread not a Christian in r/atheism/... no need to criticize lol and ya, marriage seems silly in the game, it strikes me the same as a 'making friends' addon would. Sure it adds a realist concept to the game but the whole point of me turning on a video game is to enjoy myself and do things I can't do in real life... marriage isn't either of those. Even if its this quirky pre-1900s marriage reenactment just missing the 'make me a sandwich button' :/ a slave *cough* I mean companion mod would do all the same things without the attempt at mimicing this odd part of real life but to each his own of cource. Alistat
marriage and friends are for pussy sims fans  are for real life... lol I appreciate role playing and playing a game for more than just the gore, but friendship and marriage in a video game just seems silly to me, you could walk outside and talk to some random guy and it would be a million times more in depth and enjoyable than anything a video game could give you... jedimembrain
Look up the term "Role Playing Game" Alistat .. Fun can be going into a different world and living a different life .. thats what TES is about. And I could never walk up to a random viking in a snow capped mountain range and talk about where to sell my animal hides .. thats what TES is for .. talking to the guy outside of my real life home is as fun as .. well.. honestly I find most random people to be completely brainless lols .. moreso than some AI Ive ran across in oblivion :P Edited October 28, 2011 by jedimembrain
Evilllamas
I'm going to get spouses, murder them, and lock them in the basement. Then I'll get another, and another....Then finally, when there are many bodies down there, I'll take one spouse down there alive, and see what happens!mwhahaha... Lowk
marriage and friends are for pussy sims fans  are for real life... lolThat logic fails when you consider all the other things in the game you could do in real life. Should they be excluded simply because they're real-life activities? A game needs grounding, and the marriage aspect (although admittedly hollow from what I've seen) helps the player feel more like his/her character is part of the world they're in. Plus, your husband/wife doubles as a companion whenever you want. "Honey, could you swing your axe at the troll, please? I'm a bit tied up with these draugr...no, we are NOT lost, I know exactly which way we came from in this mine..." To me, that's just additional entertainment and RP possibilities. Of course...to each his own, as you said.
