ginnyfizz
Breton definitely for me. The Breton presets look marginally less Klingon than any of the mer.

I've never been fond of the "Humans with pointy ears" look for elves. They're supposed to be obviously different looking, not just skinny humans with funny ears and skin/eye colors. That's just a personal preference, though!
MootCouncil
When I make a mage it will be an argonian.Though if you're thinking of choosing between Altmer and Breton, I'd advise Breton.

Fatalmasterpiece
I chose Altmer since I think Bretons are more an allround race. The racial abilities that are known so far is that the Altmer magicka recharges faster. I played one in the demo, and DAYUM does it recharge fast. You can pretty much drain your magicka, and by the time you walk and make another encounter it would definitely easily be full again, seemed like 10secs max and it was full. TBH I think Bretons might be a nice choice though, as they get an even more useful racial bonus imo, dragonskin. The increased magicka recharge isn't as helpful as you'd imagine as it recharges quite fast anyway, and you can just down potions mid battle with hot keys, and your magick would still probably be recharged by the time you make another encounter. Plus dragonskin sounds cool. Of course this is the demo so things could be skew-if in the released game. Baw the way you describe it makes it seem like Bethesda has made this TES much closer to a pew pew action platformer.

AltreU
I'll play each race at least once and I usually go Altmer for pure mage. Hopefully they adjust the mana regen so that races with an affinity towards magic will have an advantage with it, just as I hope melee oriented races will have the advantage in close range combat.
