shroudsoftruin
So at the end of Oblivion, Martin bursts into flames, saves the day, and gets his ass statue-ified, meaning the end of the Septim dynasty...... this is old news. But if we look back in the history of TES wasnt the very first Emperor Tiber Septim, a dragonborn? and in fact, Tiber Septim was born in raised in Skyrim? He only moves on to Cyrodil, after doing the whole dragon slayage conquest bit. is anyone else drawing some pretty eerie connections? You, the player Character, The last Dovakiin, Currently residing in Skyrim, with the political turmoil of the stormcloaks and imperials giving the PC more than enough oppritunity to try his hand at the conquest-y stuff. I don't think i need to remind anyone that dragons will be slain (a lot OF DRAGONS). I ask you to read between the lines here. for the slower people on here i'll come out and say it.I predict that the dovakiin will be the next emperor of tamriel. and the more i think about it the more it makes sense. ..................or i could be retarded. idk at this point. it just makes sense to me.opinions? comments? other theories? trolls? TheMysteriousTraveler
I thought you WERE suppost to become emperor in the end because Dragonborns are the emperors, martin septim was one, and if you dont believe me then remember when those blades said "Hail dragonborn! hail martin septim!" chikawowwow
I'm sure there was a new emporer by conquest in the first book, haven't read the second yet but I'd imagine the imperial crown is held by stewards.
VoraNoxstella
You have to be specifically related to the bloodline. Martin was the last. Being a Dovahkiin doesn't make you related. That's more of a soul thing, not in any way related to blood. The empire is dead. Hence why Cyrodiil in in such turmoil during the events of Skyrim. Just my thoughts

It's like saying all British people are related. Just cus you have the same background doesn't mean you are family.
shroudsoftruin
But you never LEGITIMATELY become the emporer. you become the champion of cyrodil, and as to the books, idk, i never read them. sounds plausible. bloodline doesnt mean anything if all in your family is dead. the septim dynasty is finished, but whose to say their cant be another, happens in history all the time. the stuarts and the tudors in england, and the several emporers of china Edited October 29, 2011 by shroudsoftruin

jedimembrain
the whole dragon born thing does make it seem like you will become emporer .. I'm not really into the lore as deep as a lot of your are but I did just replay oblivion and they made a hude deal about dragonborns needing to like the dragon fire and the emporer being dragonborn was a pretty major plot point .. I never thought about it till I replayed it but in Oblivion dragons and the dragonborn were a HUGE part of the game .. It was a perfect lead in to Skyrim. The "hail the dragonborn" quote was written far before Skyrim was even a twinkle in Todd's eye.
