oblivion on linux problems

Jumonji, I suspect it runs slower on Wine than on Windows, but since I don't have Windows I can't be exact about it.

 

My personal experience (playing on the system described above) is that it runs pretty decently in most areas. But occasionally I get terrible performance problems (some locations or some combat situations), where the fps just crawls, like 1 fps (ouch!). But usually it's acceptable, so I'm happy. I'm still learning about tweaking oblivion.ini for performance. It's a dark art, I think. Sometimes restarting the game speeds it up a lot. Weird.
