Oblivion, a little too close

Hey, all,

So I've encountered a bit of a bizarre Oblivion bug, and I was wondering if anyone had had a similar experience and could help me out.

I just reinstalled Oblivion earlier today, and installed a whole bunch of mods for it (primarily FCOM, the darnified UI, and a handful of texture replacers.) The game ran perfectly smoothly for the first 20 minutes or so. However, after that, I began realizing that the graphics seemed a little bit off. I eventually realized that I could no longer see my health, magicka, etc. because all the game was showing me was what ought to have been the center or the screen, zoomed in to a big magnitude. This zooming-in also applies to all of my menus, in-game and out, though, oddly enough, 3rd-person playing still goes fine.

However, as I am unable to navigate the in-game menus (much less only load a saved game with difficulty) right now Oblivion is more-or-less unplayable.

I made a point of disabling all of my .esps, .esms, and omods except for Oblivion and SI, yet the problem was unaffected. I temporarily disabled OSE, to no effect. Restarting was similarly ineffectual.

I would really prefer not having to re-install Oblivion again- installing all of my mods took over two hours today, and if there were an easier solution, I'd be very grateful.

I've included several images of the issue; apologies for the large resolution.

Thanks in advance.

It could be your FOV settings.

Go to: C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\

There should be a file called 'Oblivion.ini'

Open this file in notepad and once notepad has loaded up, press 'CTRL+F'.

In the box that pops up, type this: fDefaultFOV

Click 'Find' or 'Find Next'

It should find the text you searched for.

If the line it highlights looks any different to this: fDefaultFOV=75.0000

change it so it's the same.

Save and exit.

Check the game.

I may be reaching here but...Have you tried different resolutions or reinstalled Darnified?

I seem to remember Darnified as having a lot of options. I would think its a simple fix whatever it is.

Do you use any third-person mods?

Good Luck.

The Reverend got it; somehow my default FOV had been altered along the way.

I'm very impressed; I was convinced I was going to have to go through the entire re-installation process again. Not only did you guys save me from that, you both got back to me within a half hour of my posting this issue. Kudos to both of you; thanks a billion.
