autumnsky38
Hi everyone. I'm playing Morrowind and I love it, but I can't say I've found a place to live that I really love. My Telvanni stronghold is okay but I don't like the centurions and it's impossible to delete them from the game, plus it's very dark and hurts my eyes! I have found a few other people's houses to stash my stuff, but I really want something special that's mine, so I thought I'd come and see if anyone might be interested in creating a mod for me. What I was thinking is a house that's INSIDE one of those HUGE mushroom heads like the ones in Sadrith Mora. The living area would be a huge circle and look a lot like the inside of the upper parts of the towers (like the Telvanni tower) with beds, dresser, chests, desk and chair, lots of bookshelves filled with books, and lots of luminous rusalla and tiny mushrooms in pots decorating the place. It would also be wonderful to be able to have my character actually sit down in a chair---not sure if you can do that in Morrowind, but it's one thing I've loved about Oblivion so I'm hoping it's possible. Anyway, that's my basic idea for now. I really appreciate you guys reading my post btw--I have no clue how to make mods and so I think it would be a lot of fun to find someone experienced who can bring my little dream to life. :) Take care,Tracy
Tchos
Yes, it is far too dark, but that can be fixed! You can pick up or buy candles and lanterns from anywhere (in various colours), and set them down in your home to light the place up. For decorating, there's a mod that lets you buy furniture to decorate your house with. You can start with a clean slate in a house by using the console command "disable" to get rid of unwanted furniture, then place down any furniture and decoration you want. Personally, I started out with the large room in Tel Uvirith (downstairs, I think) which was mostly empty, and started making an alchemy lab out of it using the furniture mod, lights, and another mod called Purchasable Alchemy Lab, where you can set up racks of jars that automatically store and sort your ingredients. If you want a big circle room aside from mushrooms, then you might try taking over one of the Dwemer ruins that has an observatory, and set up your living space in there, with a mark and recall spell (preferably using the multi-mark modded spell) set there for easy entry and exit. These things basically let you design your home within the game, without needing to make a mod. Edited October 30, 2011 by Tchos
Tchos
Alternatively, you could try one of these already-existing mods and see if you like them. There are three that renovate the Telvanni stronghold in different ways: Uvirith UnleashedUvirith's LegacyUvirith Expanded
autumnsky38
Hi there. I forgot to pop in and reply to your responses to my topic! lol Sorry about that. :) I like your ideas of adding things such and lights and stuff---it never occured to me to learn how to add candles and things, or that I could do it right there in-game instead of having to go into the construction set. (which I know nothing about! LOL) Also, I appreciate the links and I have installed one of those mods for my Uvirith....it looks a lot better and I'm much happier with it. :) Take care and thanks so much,Tracy
