Noivilb01
Hi everyone Having issues with a cleanly installed and just modded FO4 installation. I had an existing save game which I trashed after the update to 1.5, so I did a clean install of F04, downloading completely from Steam again. I played for a couple of minutes to generate my inis, then started modding similar to my previous setup, and now am getting CTDs straight after the intro video. I installed the latest ENBs, and my load order is as follows (sorted by LOOT): DLCRobot.esmDLCworkshop01.esmDLCCoast.esmHomemaker.esmArmorKeywords.esmUnofficial Fallout 4 Patch.espHomemaker - Unlocked Institute Objects.espFr4nssonsLightTweaks.espValdacilsItemSorting-00-ValsPicks-DLCVersion.espCrafting Workbench.espCrafting Workbenches - Ammo.espCrafting Workbenches - Automatron DLC.espCrafting Workbenches - Pre War and Manufactured.espAnS Wearable Backpacks and Pouches.espAnS Wearable Backpacks and Pouches - Ballistic Weave.espAnS Wearable Backpacks and Pouches - Power Armor Carry Capacity.espAnS Wearable Backpacks and Pouches - AWKCR.espAnS Wearable Backpacks and Pouches - AWKCR Power Armor.espConquest.espDD_Khassar_De_Templari_Increased_build.espArmorsmith Extended.espAWKCRPatch-UFO4P.espArmorsmith Automatron.espArmorsmith Far Harbor.espAdvSettleTurretSet-Real.espdD-Enhanced Blood Basic.esp2xEnemyDamage.espFogOut - FarHarbor DLC Patch.espDarkerNights.espFogOut.espFogOut - Update Patch.espFogOut - Automatron DLC Patch.espTrueStormsFO4.espTrueStormsFO4-ClimateSettings.espTrueStormsFO4-GlowingSeaExtraRads.espDarkerNightsDetection.espBetterNightVision.espDarkerNights-FarHarbor.espDarkerNights-TrueStorms.espDarkerNights-FogOut.esp I'm generally not too bad with modding, having previously modded Skyrim quite heavily and cleaning dirty edits using TES5Edit, however I'm tearing my hair out with this one! I did have an error where NMM did not seem to update my loadorder.txt properly, as it was displaying my old mod list before the reinstall, but fixed it using Bilago's FO4 configurator. Anyone have any suggestions where to start, or am I going to have to manually go through all these mods with FO4Edit for cleaning? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. tyler049
intro video crashes are the result of a missing master.
traderpax
Not sure I agree with this Tyler049, but I am having the same/or a similar problem. Noiv, try removing your fallout4custom.ini folder (put it on desktop or something) and then rerun the game from Steam. If it works, then there is some problem a recent update is causing the game to crash when using Fallout4custom.ini. My game used to work fine, but in one of the recent updates I started having problems and then my game would only CTD. I removed, uninstalled my mods; uninstalled the game, reinstalled. Finally got the game to work after doing a reinstall and deleting all the INI files and having the game remake new ones (start a new game), but in order to do this you can't use old save files. Anyway, as soon as I started to work on getting mods into the game problems began again and I would get CTD always upon loading a new game or saved game. I fiddled with it a bit and have determined that it is some problem with the Fallout4custom.ini file. If I remove this file, I can play the un-modded game fine. If I have the file, I can't play it un-modded or modded. I get CTD every time at new or load game, just after it begins to load (black screen, then CTD). tyler049
CTD after load can be cause by a plethora of things corrupt files conflicting mods but crashes after the bethesda logo are usually the result of a missing master. also you should upload your custom ini so I can take a look at it as I am curious.
