IllusionSSS
I don't know about you, but i think that the imperial city feels like there are only around 15 people in the whole town. But i mostly spend most my time in the Talos and Market district which are where the most people are. So it would be really cool if someone could add a bunch, i'm talking massive scale, of npcs to each town. I just want to feel like i'm walking down the street of a city not a forgotten village where 6 people gather in the center of the district and talk and then 6 hours later they sleep. It's boring! Well what it comes down to i guess, is a mod that just adds a bunch of npcs, with packages (they walk, talk (just editing appearances of current npcs..nothing special), eat, and sleep) and like 50 npcs through all the towns, maybe more. If this is too much work i totally understand it's just that i haven't seen one mod like this..only one that adds "10 travelers" and another that adds npcs with purple hair and totally unrealistic (for that time) appearances. Goal: -50-100 NPCS-Fully Packaged (Wander, sleep,)-Make the user feel more comfortable in the game. A more city feeling, not a small town..we are dealing with the center of the whole empire and it feels empty. If you have questions about anything i've requested then please feel free to ask and i will respond as soon as i can. It would be great if someone could help me out with this, i'd really appreciate it a lot. Thanks for your time, Taylor
Vagrant0
First, and I really, honestly mean this from the deepest depths of my soul... Lose the color. However much you, or anyone else, may like color, it only ends up making your post very difficult to read. As you're trying to encourage someone to read your post, making it hard to read isn't a particularly good idea. I could maybe understand having a few places a different color to make that part stand out, but this changing color in the middle of the sentence, going from bright colors to ones which don't show well, well it just hurts my eyes to even look at it. Second. The unfortunate fact of the engine is that it can't handle 100 NPCs in a town. It really can't even handle more than 8 or 9 within the loaded area very well. While yes, the IC does seem vacant most the day, you can't really add any more NPCs to the city without causing problems durring those times when people are out and about. Nevermind trying to find places to fit those NPCs that doesn't involve just adding in dozens of doors to the buildings. Furthermore, there are already alot of mods which either add more NPCs, or add more shops to the IC, which means that what you want would likely have conflicts or issues with those mods. Really, the closest you're going to get is that mod which adds 10 travelers, or something similarly small scale. The problem with too many NPCs in one location is not only frame rate, but AI performance. The more NPCs loaded, the slower the AIs of all those NPCs work. This ends up being bad pathing, slow package refresh, among other things. If you're determined to add some NPCs, your best bet would be to start small, and try to tailor their packages so that they aren't out in the streets when everyone else is. You may even want to make use of some of the land sorrounding the city, near gates to add some homes or something. Without adding additional space outside the city, you'll end up with too many doors along the street, and too many interiors that would overlap if they existed within the same space.
