FOMM Crashing on Open

Recommended Posts

I was installing TTW main and had not read that FOMM is supposed to become unresponsive and had ended the process in task manager.

when i tried to start up FOMM it immediatly crashes

this is a copy from the crash dump

SevenZip.SevenZipArchiveException: Invalid archive: open/read error! Is it encrypted and a wrong password was provided?
If your archive is an exotic one, it is possible that SevenZipSharp has no signature for its format and thus decided it is TAR by mistake.

can anyone tell me what i need to do to fix this, i read that i need to remove the mod from the fomod list but i cant find a directory or anywhere the mod would be installed. im doing this off of a fresh installation of both FNV and FO3.
[Edit] : Forgot to add that i have uninstalled both FO3 and FNV and deleted their install folders along with any saves. I also uninstalled FOMM and any files i could find related to it. sadly none of this has worked.

You may get better help if you post question on TTW forum. Which version of FOMM do you have? You should have the FOMM fork version. Also, make sure your temporary folder is cleaned out before trying to use FOMM to install TTW. Also, even if task manager shows FOMM as unresponsive, do not close it. Just be patient.

The error message is indicating that FOMM is not able to open the archive (7-Zip) file. It doesn't indicate the name of the archive.

If the archive has a ".7z" or ".zip" extension, then try downloading it again. If it has an ".rar" extension, there are some proprietary formats RAR uses that cannot be decompressed by other tools. Given you are dealing with TTW, I would be surprised if that were the case unless it is a mod by someone other than that team.

If a re-downloaded file gives the same error, check with the TTW Forum as previously suggested.

If FOMM CTDs on startup without that file, try re-installing [Fallout Mod Manager - Forked], also as suggested.

(Thought I'd posted this yesterday, but apparently I goofed it up. Sorry about that.)
