cojaca2
Thank you in advance for any help that can be given - I have played Oblivion with mods for quite a while with no issue, and recently installed some more. When I did, I loaded up the game and found that in first person (Not in third person or in the menu) my character's model is all exploded. This glitch also affects some NPCs whether I am in first person or not. Now, the obvious solution would be that it was one of the mods I installed, but when I tried to isolate the specific mod that caused the problem, I turned up nothing. The mods obviously caused it, since it was fine just the day before, but disabling them does not fix it. The mods I installed were as follows (I can get the full mod list if it is needed) - Borderless Cyordiil - http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3578 Bravil Sea Domes - http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9388 Elsweyr the Deserts of Anequina - http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25023 Enchantment Enhanced - http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18072 I'm honestly quite confused as to what might have went wrong - Thank you again for your time. MShoap13
A screenshot of "exploded" NPCs and your character and a full load order could be helpful in troubleshooting your problem.
Keirgarth
Run BOSS and have a look at those mods in particular to see if there is any information on them needing cleaning. Specific reference to dirty edits might be a good indicator that it was one of those, though from the looks of those mods it is hard to believe it would be. cojaca2
Sorry for late response - Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. Here is what the glitch looks like on the player: http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee361/fowlj4626/Oblivion2011-10-3021-48-47-72.jpg And here is what it looks like on NPCs in the game: http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee361/fowlj4626/Oblivion2011-11-0405-54-32-72.jpg That would be two imperial guards, if you're curious. An additional strange thing I have noticed is that this glitch does not seem to affect the beast races, at least for the player. (EDIT: I took another look because I was curious as to why this might be, and it turns out that it does affect beast races, but the model explodes directly behind them, meaning that you can't see it in first person.) Anyhow, I'll try the cleaning suggestion, but like you said, I don't see those mods having that sort of effect - Maybe, though. Keirgarth
I have seen this before with certain robes that NPC's were wearing. I believe I saw someone posting that this is an issue with the skeleton of the mesh for the item, but could be wrong, it is early here :)
The_Vyper
So this is happening with the Player character and NPCs? I see two possibilities here: 1. The skeleton.nif and skeletonbeast.nif were replaced by something that's not compatible with existing clothing/armor. Try replacing them with Coronerra's Maximum Compatibility Skeleton and see if that helps. 2. There are missing NormalMap textures for some (or all) of the outfits. NormalMaps basically tell textures how to fit on a mesh and they have the same name as the related texture, but with _n at the end. Example: Robe.dds <---- The main texture for a robeRobe_n.dds <---- The NormalMap for the texture
