I would like to add the Caravan Shotgun as well as the Sturdy Caravan Shotgun to the Cowboy Perk list ( I know I know....they aren't lever action...but are they not a fallout take on the classic old west coach gun?) This doesn't make them super weapons by any means.....the Hunting Shotgun is still pack leader but It would make them usable long after they were supposed to die. I'd also like to reduce the spread of the Sturdy to match the standard Caravan shotgun....2.2 instead of an unholy 4! Lastly I like to make both compatible with the Shotgun Surgeon and And Stay Back perks. I heard the latter isn't possible but I thought I'd inquire. This is probably pretty simple stuff for you pros but It would make my whole year. I love my little shotgun. I just wish it wouldn't get me killed so often.....I don't want to be running around with a super weapon either though ya know. I like balance and the numbers hold balance on this one. shittakaburi Posted November 1, 2011 Share Posted November 1, 2011 For me, personally, this doesn't fall under the intent of the Cowboy perk. As you pointed out, it's pretty clear about the lever action. I would never ever tell someone how to play, but I would recommend you leave the Cowboy perk alone and make a whole new perk, maybe something in a similar spirit. Just off the top of my head, I remember that American soldiers in WW1 used sawed off and short barrel shotguns in the trenches to such great effect that the Germans considered their use a war crime (though it wasn't). You could call the perk something like "Safe for Democracy" or "A Fistful of Krauts" or something. +25% to shotgun damage. If I made it, I would add a negative effect since there are already a few nice perk for shotguns, Shotgun Surgeon. I could add that, keeping with the trench warfare concept, the effective shotgun range is even shorter or I could add that if the player has the Shotgun Surgeon perk, the DT effect would be halved. As for And Stay Back, if the shotguns you mentioned are not in that perk, they should be. That would be an easy thing to fix and something I could get behind. As for altering the spread of the weapon, that's a personal thing for you, I would think, unless that spread is so extreme and unique among shotguns that it could be reasonably thought a mistake by the devs. Would also be an easy thing to mod but would likely have an audience of one. I'm personally busy for the next week and there is no time I can open the GECK for five seconds that it does not turn into 5 hours.
